Swan Hellenic reservations exceed expectations as inaugural cruise books to capacity
Resurgent cultural expedition cruise pioneer inspires solid interest
Resurgent cultural expedition cruise pioneer inspires solid interest
Nicosia, Cyprus: Today, Wednesday the 31st of March, Swan Hellenic announced that interest in its cultural expedition cruises is translating into buoyant bookings across the board.
Driven by renewed consumer confidence, this uptick is particularly strong for the iconic company's cruises of New Zealand & the Pacific Islands, UK & Northern France, the Scottish Islands and Antarctica. Indeed, its Antarctic Polar Solar eclipse inaugural cruise is already fully booked.
At the same time, the Swan Hellenic model of cultural expedition cruising has clearly hit a chord, strengthened by the news that construction of its all-new fleet of three 5-star ice-class expedition ships at Helsinki Shipyard is proceeding successfully on schedule.
The structure of its first ship, SH Minerva, is in fact already complete, enabling everyone to see her elegant final form and staterooms, which can be explored on the Swan Hellenic website in their rich natural materials and spacious open perspectives out to sea.
Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito commented: “Small expedition ships coupled with further afield destinations are considered well placed to lead the resurgence in cruising. We’re delighted to have inspired a diverse spectrum of curious minds in such numbers and look forward to welcoming them aboard to see what others don’t”.
About Swan Hellenic
Swan Hellenic was relaunched in July 2020 to proudly continue the spirit of cultural expedition cruising the company pioneered in the 1950s. Building on its British roots, the new company has a global cultural cruising outlook dedicated to providing guests with the opportunity to ‘see what others don’t’.
Two new 5-star polar PC 5 ice-class expedition cruise ships arriving in November 2021 and April 2022 will each accommodate 152 guests in 76 spacious staterooms and suites, the majority with large balconies. A larger PC 6 ice-class vessel accommodating 192 guests in 96 staterooms and suites in the same distinctive comfort and style as its sister ships will be arriving year-end 2022. All three new ships are being built in full compliance with SOLAS Safe Return to Port requirements.
Dedicated to guests with a passion for adventure and cultural exploration, the company’s meticulously planned itineraries explore the wild landscapes, wildlife, peoples and unique cultures of the world’s less travelled regions.
Its ships feature elegant Scandi-design interiors, extensive outdoor spaces and dedicated expedition facilities. The crew includes an expedition team comprising expert guides, speakers and lecturers, and numbering 120 and 140 respectively almost equals the number of guests, reflecting the high levels of attentive personal service provided.

Windstar Cruises Will Require Covid-19 Vaccination to Sail
SEATTLE, WA, MARCH 30, 2021 – Until further notice, Windstar Cruises will require proof of a current COVID-19 vaccination for all guests sailing aboard Windstar’s yachts. The cruise line arrived at the decision in the best health and wellness interests of its guests, crew, and the places the yachts visit. Many Windstar destinations and some airlines have announced or are considering vaccine mandates, providing further support for the new Windstar policy. Windstar is a leader in small-ship cruising with six, boutique all-suite and sailing yachts (carrying fewer than 350 guests each) that access the smaller ports, waterways, and destinations the large cruise ships cannot.
“Looking at the science behind the virus, we see consistent recommendations for wearing masks, social distancing, testing, and enhanced cleaning. In response, Windstar developed a new Beyond Ordinary Care program, which is a multi-layered strategy with key hospital-grade elements: HEPA filters and UV-C germicidal irradiation to filter and disinfect the air, plus backpack sprayers to sanitize all surfaces throughout our yachts,” said Andrew Todd, CEO, Windstar and parent company Xanterra Travel Collection.
“Vaccination is another layer of safety for all of us, and it’s the responsible course of action as our yachts resume cruising and our guests travel the world,” said Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar Cruises.
Current government and news reports about increased vaccine availability in the United States and abroad give Windstar confidence that guests who wish to sail with the line will have time to be vaccinated before travel. Crew members will be required to be vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them. This Windstar standard is subject to change as CDC guidelines change. Windstar will periodically review this and all other COVID-19 policies for updates as the pandemic evolves.
Windstar will restart operations in June 2021 in a phased manner, with initial cruises at a reduced guest occupancy, some modified itineraries, and with enhanced health and safety protocols. To provide guests with greater flexibility, Windstar has moved the final payment date from 120 days to 60 days prior to cruise departure.
The timeline for resumption of operations is:
Star Breeze – June 19, 2021 – Caribbean
Wind Star – June 19, 2021 – Mediterranean
Wind Spirit – July 15, 2021 – Tahiti
Wind Surf – August 8, 2021 – Mediterranean
Star Legend – Sept 4, 2021 – Northern Europe
Star Pride – November 3, 2021 – Caribbean
At the cruise terminal prior to embarkation, guests will be required to provide proof of a completed current vaccine course (one or two shots, depending on the brand) finished at least 14 days prior to the guest’s embarkation date. Negative COVID-19 test results will also be required prior to embarkation.

Tauck Quadruples River Cruises Featuring Floriade Horticultural Expo for 2022
The Netherlands’ Once-Every-Decade Festival Drew 2,000,000 Visitors in 2012
WILTON, CT (March 29, 2021) Ten years after Tauck saw exceptional bookings for its European river cruises featuring the Floriade International Horticultural Expo, the Connecticut-based company is preparing to capture even stronger anticipated demand for the 2022 iteration of the Netherlands’ once-every-decade festival. Where Tauck offered just a single itinerary that visited Floriade in 2012, it will feature the festival next year on a total of four different river cruises.
According to Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, the basis for the company’s bullish enthusiasm is two-fold. “Our excitement is rooted in both our past experience with Floriade, and in the really incredible plans we’ve seen for the 2022 expo,” said Mahar. “Our guests’ interest in attending Floriade is such that we essentially – and rather quickly – sold out our entire inventory in 2012,” he explained. Mahar also noted that the 2012 edition of Floriade drew more than 2,000,000 total visitors, or some four times the attendance at the 2010 performances of the Oberammergau Passion Play, another popular, once-every-decade cultural event featured on Tauck river cruises.
Next year’s Floriade, explained Mahar, will be far more than a simple flower show. The expo’s theme is “Growing Green Cities,” and it will showcase elements ranging from green architecture and environmentally-friendly food production to renewable energy and healthy living. The expo will be situated on 148 acres of land in the city of Almere that was raised and reclaimed from the sea, and following the festival’s conclusion late next year, its various buildings and facilities will collectively function as an enduring, environmentally-friendly urban center. “An apt comparison for the 2022 Floriade and its forward-looking emphasis on the cities of tomorrow would be Walt Disney’s vision for EPCOT,” said Mahar, noting how closely the EPCOT acronym (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) aligns with Floriade’s “Growing Green Cities” focus.
The Floriade expo will have more than enough to satisfy those with strong horticultural interests, including landscapes, gardens and greenhouses highlighting a vast collection of flowers, trees, shrubs, plants and crops from more than 40 countries. The festival will also feature live entertainment, themed cultural programs and exhibits, a host of international pavilions, a range of restaurants, food trucks and specialty tastings, and a diverse campus connected by gondolas, trains, bridges and walkways.
EARLY ADMISSION AND A PRIVATE SMALL-GROUP TOUR
Tauck guests will enjoy a full day at Floriade, highlighted by early-access admission one hour before the expo opens to the general public, and a 90-minute, small-group guided tour of key attractions hosted by a Floriade expert. Each guest will also receive a Tauck-issued, 25-euro Floriade credit card allowing them to enjoy lunch in their choice of dining venues, or purchase mementos of their visit if they prefer.
Tauck has also secured docking privileges in nearby Huizen, a short ten-minute drive from the Floriade grounds. For guests’ convenience and flexibility, private round-trip shuttles will be provided between the riverboat and the expo campus. The visit to Floriade, including expo admission, shuttle transportation, and the Floriade credit card, is included in Tauck’s cruise pricing, as are all other shore excursions, all gratuities, all onboard wine and spirits, airport transfers, luggage handling and more. The four Tauck river cruises featuring a visit to the Floriade expo include two 15-day itineraries, “Amsterdam to Budapest by Riverboat” and “The Rhine and Moselle,” along with two eight-day trips, “Belgium & Holland in Spring” and the new-for-2021 itinerary “Cruising the Dutch Waterways.”
LESSONS FROM THE OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY
Information on Tauck’s four 2022 river cruises featuring Floriade has recently been posted on the company’s website, and can also be downloaded in an eight-page e-brochure. As Tauck begins to ramp up its promotional efforts for Floriade, CEO Mahar is urging those interested to make their plans quickly. “For most travelers, attending something like Floriade or the Oberammergau Passion Play is a true once-in-a-lifetime experience, and because they’re only available once every ten years, the opportunities to attend are really quite limited,” said Mahar. “Understandably, that creates a real sense of urgency among our guests that prompts them to act fast. With the Oberammergau Passion Play, we were 90% sold out before we started to actively promote it, and we’re fully expecting our Floriade trips to generate that same kind of response.”

Geneva, Switzerland (March 29, 2021) — MSC Cruises announced today it will deploy its latest flagship for British guests to enjoy safe summer sailings around the UK. MSC Virtuosa’s maiden voyage on May 20, with guests embarking from Southampton, will be the first in a series of 3 and 4-night mini-cruises before beginning 7-night cruises starting June 12 from three embarkation ports in England and Scotland.
All voyages will be for British residents only and for guests of all ages who have either already been vaccinated or are waiting for a COVID-19 vaccine. All guests will be tested before embarking the ship, and non-vaccinated guests will also be required to show proof of a negative test conducted up to 72 hours prior to embarkation. Other pre-boarding and onboard measures will also apply to both guests and crew, in line with MSC Cruises’ industry-leading health and safety protocol.
The range of four-night mini-cruises will offer a late sail from Southampton and will provide the ultimate short getaway for couples or friends in search of a quick escape. The ship will call at the Isle of Portland in Dorset, part of the Jurassic Coast, where guests will be able to go ashore and enjoy a perfect day at the beach. The itinerary will also include two days at sea so guests can enjoy the incredible activities, entertainment and amenities that MSC Virtuosa has to offer.
Starting June 12, cruisers can join seven-night sailings that will include stops in Portland and the cultural city of Belfast in Northern Ireland with multiple ports of embarkation including Liverpool and Greenock, close to Glasgow in Scotland.
MSC Virtuosa was delivered in February and is not only MSC Cruises’ newest ship, but also its most innovative and environmentally-advanced ships to-date. MSC Virtuosa is part of the Meraviglia class vessels that are characterised by an iconic 367-ft.-long Mediterranean style promenade with a stunning LED sky dome, serving as the social heart of the ship.
The 19-deck ship will offer its British guests of all ages the very best of fine dining restaurants, world-class entertainment, relaxing bars and lounges, boutique shopping, spa and fitness centers, a dynamic aquapark and dedicated clubs for kids from toddlers to teenagers.
Guests on board will be wowed by the brand-new MSC Starship Club featuring the world’s first humanoid robotic bartender, named Rob, offering a futuristic immersive bar and entertainment experience.
Gianni Onorato, CEO, MSC Cruises said, “We are incredibly proud that we can offer British guests of all ages our very latest vessel MSC Virtuosa for their summer holiday and I’m sure they will have a fabulous time on board with all that this incredibly innovative ship has to offer, as well as being able to enjoy a range of protected shore excursions in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.”
“We also look forward to the day when current international travel restrictions are lifted in the UK and we can welcome British guests back on board our ships once again in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world that we know that they love to visit.”
MSC Cruises resumed its operations in August 2020 following approvals from regulatory bodies throughout Europe for a health and safety protocol designed to protect the wellbeing of MSC Cruises’ guests, crew and communities its ships visited.
More than 55,000 guests have to date enjoyed safe and responsible cruise vacations including the Company’s pioneering protected shore excursions.
The protocol was developed in 2020 with input from international health experts — including MSC Cruises’ ‘COVID-19 Blue-Ribbon Expert Group’ — and in close cooperation with relevant national and regional health, transport and safety authorities throughout Europe.
MSC Virtuosa was previously scheduled to serve itineraries in Northern Europe out of Germany, and she will be replaced by MSC Seaview. Booked guests and travel agents will be contacted directly.

"We are delighted to have seen unprecedented demand for our World Cruise 2023, South Side Story, which sold out within hours of its general opening,” says Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s President & CEO."The most successful World Cruise launch in the history of our cruise line, this triumph pays testament to the strong demand we are seeing in the market, particularly from affluent, sophisticated travelers. As it charts a course through captivating landscapes, each segment will unlock the history, culture and spirit of the people and places visited. Following a Bon Voyage reception and dinner aboard the intimate, all-suite Silver Shadow, guests traveling aboard the World Cruise 2023 will depart Sydney on January 10, 2023, and arrive in Fort Lauderdale on May 28. The itinerary will present an extraordinary mix of destinations, from the remote wonders of Papua New Guinea, Mauritius, Réunion Island, and Cape Verde to iconic regions and cities, often unlocked on overnight calls (20 in total), including 10 days spent exploring Tasmania and New Zealand, three days in Myanmar, and a full week in South Africa. And, for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, Silver Shadow will sail the Amazon River to unlock the natural and cultural wonders of this legendary region.

Moreover, guests will benefit from private assistance to their gate/lounge and gain access to designated airline lounges. Once in Sydney, travelers will then experience VIP arrival assistance, private executive transfers, and priority embarkation. Silver Shadow's butlers will then be available to assist guests in unpacking, should they wish.
Among many remarkable highlights of the World Cruise 2023, the following overview provides insight on the standout experiences of each segment:
MYSTICAL LANDS AND NATURAL TREASURES IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND: SYDNEY TO AUCKLAND
Tracing a southward and then easterly route from Sydney to Auckland, guests will enjoy a 10-day exploration of the natural history of Tasmania and New Zealand for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise. Stops in Hobart, Dunedin, Akaroa, Picton, Wellington, Napier and Tauranga are complemented by a cruise through the stunning Milford Sound. From Picton, guests will enjoy an exclusive sunset World Cruise event, hosted at the Cloudy Bay Estate, where they will tour the cellar, meet the award-winning vintners and then savor a delectable dinner paired with the estate's finest wines and musical entertainment.
MYTHS AND RITUALS IN MELANESIA - AUCKLAND TO MANILA
The itinerary continues from Auckland through the Bay of Islands to explore a string of island gems in Melanesia, Micronesia and the Philippines, before arriving in Manila. Through specially designed World Cruise events, guests will gain insight on the life and traditions of these remote island communities -- from the water drumming women of Vanuatu to the Baining fire dancers of Papua New Guinea for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise. Additionally, guests will relax during a private beach day on Kalanggaman Island, enjoying lunch, entertainment and plenty of time to stroll the white powdery sands of this untouched paradise.
MODERN CITIES AND ANCIENT TRADITIONS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA - MANILA TO SINGAPORE
From Manila, Silver Shadow will set a winding course through the South China Sea in search of new adventures and exotic cultures, ultimately arriving in Singapore. Along the way, intriguing places like Hong Kong, Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok will be showcased with overnight or multi-night stays. In Ha Long Bay, a bespoke World Cruise event, hosted within one of the bay's mysterious caves, offers guests the rare opportunity to enjoy an evening of authentic Vietnamese cuisine by candlelight, set amid the natural majesty of a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Local performers will delight guests with traditional Vietnamese cultural displays, including Xoan and Cai Luong singing, as well as the art of water puppetry. As glasses clink and shadows dance upon ancient limestone walls, guests will find this a magical stage for writing their own story.
A WEALTH OF CIVILIZATIONS IN MYANMAR AND THE INDIAN OCEAN - SINGAPORE TO MAHÉ
When Silver Shadow departs Singapore for Mahé, a trove of storied lands will welcome guests along an amazing stretch of the Indian Ocean, from the Bay of Bengal to glistening isles off Africa's eastern coastline. The countries of Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the Seychelles are the headliners for this segment. Three days offer deep exploration of the pagodas, architecture and ethereal beauty of Myanmar. In Sri Lanka, the cultural footprint of past eras -- Dutch, Portuguese and British -- awaits discovery, along with a bevy of UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites. The sun-drenched beaches of the Maldives and the Seychelles provide the perfect finale for this segment.
AFRICAN ENCOUNTERS IN THE WEST INDIAN OCEAN - MAHÉ TO CAPE TOWN
On this 23-day journey from Mahé to Cape Town, some of the world's most fascinating natural and cultural treasures will take center stage -- from the Spice Island heritage of Tanzania and the rich biodiversity of Madagascar (explored over the course of three days) to the rugged natural beauty of Mauritius and Réunion (both not visited on a Silversea World Cruise for several years), and the Big Five of South Africa. Crowning the experience will be a World Cruise event in the historic Stone Town of Zanzibar, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Staged in the town's iconic Old Fort, the specially produced show will pay tribute to the musical legacy of Freddie Mercury, Stone Town's native son and one of the world's most renowned entertainers. Guests will also enjoy dinner in this atmospheric setting.
TREASURES AND TRADITIONS OF WEST AFRICA - CAPE TOWN TO DAKA
Namibia. Angola. Ghana. Ivory Coast. Gambia. The names alone evoke a sense of excitement and wonder. These are the stars of Silver Shadow's first voyage in the Atlantic, as the ship's odyssey continues from Cape Town to Dakar, along the western shores of Africa. Windswept sand dunes, colorful colonial architecture, historic castles, lush rainforests and voodoo spirituality are among the discoveries that await guests in this corner of the world. The segment launches with a World Cruise event staged fittingly in a rugby field overlooking Cape Town Stadium, where guests will feast on an array of traditional game day delicacies as they watch an outdoor screening of the blockbuster movie ‘Invictus,’ a historical drama about Nelson Mandela and the role of rugby in healing a nation.Mandela’s former private secretary, Zelda Lagrange, will also be in attendance as a special guest.
WELCOME TO THE AMAZON: CAPE VERDE AND THE AMAZON - DAKAR TO MANAUS
This transatlantic segment from Dakar to Manaus spends three days exploring the volcanic archipelago of Cape Verde, with its striking mountain scenery, picturesque beaches and bustling markets, enriched by a unique blend of African and European cultures. Then, five leisurely days at sea provide a relaxing prelude to the adventure that lies ahead -- a cruise on the Amazon River, for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise. Set within the world's most diverse ecosystem, the Amazon Rainforest, the legendary river weaves a path through a remarkable variety of flora and fauna. At the point where the Amazon meets the Rio Negro lies the town of Manaus and its magnificent 19th-century Opera House. Here, Silversea will stage a World Cruise event, at which guests will witness an exclusive evening performance during the Amazonas Opera Festival, complete with champagne and canapés.
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF CULTURES IN THE CARIBBEAN - MANAUS TO FORT LAUDERDALE
Stretching from Manaus to Fort Lauderdale, the closing act for the World Cruise 2023 takes place in the glistening waters of the incomparable Caribbean. Following three days cruising the Amazon, with visits to two Brazilian towns situated along the river, and then a stop at tiny Île Royale in French Guiana, the pastel-hued townscapes and sun-kissed beaches of the Caribbean will soon come into view. Mayreau, St. John's, Gustavia, and San Juan are among the final stops as Silver Shadow wraps up this incredible discovery of the Southern Hemisphere. In St. John's, guests will enjoy an exclusive farewell event at the Government House, featuring cocktails, dinner, and fireworks.

MIAMI, MARCH 19, 2021 – Luxury cruise travel is back! Recording its biggest single day of bookings in company history, Crystal reports an extraordinary response in the first 24 hours of reservations opening for its new Luxury Bahamas Escapes aboard Crystal Serenity debuting July 3rd.Nearly 4,000 enthusiastic travelers reserved staterooms or suites on at least one of the seven-night voyages that cruise from Nassau or Bimini roundtrip booking more than 25 percent of the 16 voyages combined availability. Almost 200 guests reserved back-to-back voyages with some planning to spend 42 days on board the company’s flagship. The luxury line realized a 2,024 percent increase in online bookings and received reservations from the biggest number of distinct travel agencies in Crystal’s 30-year history.
“We are thrilled by the wonderful response to these new sailings. It’s clear that travelers have been eagerly looking forward to exploring again and are as excited to see Crystal Serenity return to sailing as we are,” said Jack Anderson, Crystal’s interim president and CEO. “We are incredibly grateful to our loyal Crystal guests and our valued travel partners for their support as we begin to emerge from what has been an unprecedented year for everyone.
“I want to thank our employees around the world whose passionate dedication and professionalism in navigating the last year has allowed us to resume cruising this summer. We are looking forward to welcoming our wonderful officers and crew back on board where they are eager to reconnect with our guests.”
Thursday’s bookings demonstrate travelers’ pent-up desire to take to the seas once again to enjoy the award-winning Crystal luxury experience. Anderson added, “After a year of uncertainty, our new Luxury Bahamas Escapes mark an important return to service for Crystal, but also a significant step forward for travel and tourism overall in the Americas. The all-Bahamas cruises means there is no risk of border closures, alleviating concerns related to a multiple-country itinerary that may be impacted by differing travel restrictions.
“All of this is possible thanks to the partnership of The Bahamas’ Ministry of Tourism, the Honorable Dionisio D’Aguilar, Minister of Tourism & Aviation for The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and Director General Joy Jibrilu, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. The beauty of their country and warm hospitality is enhanced by their exceptional standards of health, safety and quality experiences,” he concluded.
The Luxury Bahamas Escapes will cruise July through October, exploring the islands’ famously beautiful locales, as well as islands not accessible to larger cruise ships. With an itinerary that visits Harbour Island, Great Exuma, San Salvador Island and Long Island, Crystal Serenity will become the first cruise ship to home port in The Bahamas and return to cruising in the Americas.
Cruise fares for the new Luxury Bahamas Escapes cruises start at $1,999 per guest, including $500 Book Now Savings and $500 air savings along with Best Available Savings by category. The pre- and post-cruise hotel programs in Nassau and Bimini start at $359 and $299 per guest, respectively, including transfers between Crystal Serenity, the resort properties and the airports and all taxes and resort fees.
Crystal recently announced that guests must be fully inoculated with a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to boarding any Crystal ship. Cruise Line to Offer New 7-night Itineraries from Nassau, The Bahamas, Starting in June
MIAMI, March 19, 2021 – This summer, travelers can trade in virtual travel experiences for their long-awaited vacations and cruise in The Bahamas and Mexico with Royal Caribbean International. The global cruise line has announced a summer lineup of 7-night cruises on board Adventure of the Seas, setting sail this June from new homeport Nassau, The Bahamas. Vacationers now have the chance to island-hop and relish the adventures they have missed, including the first series of two back-to-back days on Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s game-changing private island destination in The Bahamas, and quality time exploring Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico.
Travelers looking ahead to their summer vacations can book their roundtrip cruise as soon as Wednesday, March 24 and set sail starting June 12. The new itineraries departing through August, which will sail with vaccinated crew, will be available to adult guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and those under the age of 18 with negative test results.
“We are excited to get back to delivering memorable vacations in the Caribbean, gradually and safely. The vaccines are clearly a game changer for all of us, and with the number of vaccinations and their impact growing rapidly, we believe starting with cruises for vaccinated adult guests and crew is the right choice. As we move forward, we expect this requirement and other measures will inevitably evolve over time,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “The opportunity to homeport in The Bahamas is a testament to the tremendous partners the government and the people of the island nation have been to us for more than 50 years. We are grateful for the confidence that they have in us and our commitment to a healthy and happy return to sailing.”
Itinerary Highlights
The sun-soaked shores of Perfect Day at CocoCay, Grand Bahama Island and Cozumel beckon.
Royal Caribbean’s limited summer series with Adventure offers guests the unique opportunity to spend two consecutive days on Perfect Day at CocoCay, where all staff will be fully vaccinated. With double the time to enjoy the island’s ultimate combination of thrills and ways to chill, by day, travelers can hit the tallest waterslide in North America among Thrill Waterpark’s 13 jaw-dropping waterslides; Up, Up & Away, the helium balloon that floats up to 450 feet in the air; and the first floating cabanas in The Bahamas at Coco Beach Club. And as the sun sets, they can unwind with a cocktail in hand on Chill Island’s tranquil beaches or at the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, Oasis Lagoon.
On the agenda at Grand Bahama Island and Cozumel are turquoise blue waters, island vibes, and the options to safely explore each destination’s culture, history, cuisine and natural beauty on selected Royal Caribbean shore excursions.
“As we anticipate a promising return to a vibrant tourism industry, news that the cruise industry is going to begin homeporting in The Bahamas is exciting. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of passengers will experience Nassau or Grand Bahama in ways they never had the opportunity to before,” said the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert A. Minnis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas. “I am especially pleased that Royal Caribbean, with whom we have had a long and mutually beneficial relationship for more than 50 years, selected The Bahamas as a homeport when sailing resumes. This is truly a new day for tourism. It should inspire many small- to medium-sized businesses, tour operators, taxi drivers, restaurants and retailers to prepare for brighter days ahead, the best we have ever had.”
Experiences in Store on Adventure of the Seas
Adventure, primed for the memory-making Royal Caribbean is known for, offers guests a host of experiences for smooth sailing from one island to the next. “Royal Caribbean has long been a valued partner to The Bahamas, and we are thrilled to work with them on making Nassau their newest homeport,” said Minister of Tourism & Aviation, the Honorable Dionisio D’Aguilar. “Cruising is a vital part of The Bahamas’ economy and having Royal Caribbean and their guests return to our shores will contribute greatly to restoring and reactivating tourism. We have been preparing diligently for the last many months to ensure an experience that is equally safe and enjoyable. We are confident that cruise goers will receive the warm, friendly hospitality The Bahamas is famous for. We cannot wait to remind guests that it is still Better in The Bahamas.”

Details on additional health and safety measures to be implemented by Royal Caribbean will be announced at a later date. The cruise line’s comprehensive, multilayered health and safety measures to come leverage expert guidance from the Healthy Sail Panel, Royal Caribbean Group’s Head of Public Health and Chief Medical Officer, and local government and health authorities.
In addition, vacationers must meet the travel requirements of The Bahamas. This may include receiving a negative PCR test result before their arrival, testing upon arrival into the country and filling out appropriate entry forms. The most up-to-date policies can be found at The Bahamas website.
