(Sydney, Australia -- January 9, 2023) Silversea Cruises’ 2023 World Cruise, South Side Story, is set to depart from Sydney on January 10, marking the first time the leading ultra-luxury and expedition cruise line has set sail from the Southern Hemisphere on a World Cruise. The ultra-luxury Silver Shadow will host guests for the 139-day arts-inspired voyage, sailing from the South Seas to the Amazon Rainforest and beyond, calling in 66 destinations in 34 countries across five continents.

“All the world’s a stage, and, in this arts-inspired tale, our discerning guests will discover the authentic beauty and heritage of 66 destinations in 34 countries—each with its own unique story to tell—as we journey from Australia to Fort Lauderdale over 139 days,” said Barbara Muckermann, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises. “Every detail of our guests’ journeys has been carefully considered and enhanced, from the in-flight experience to the airport lounges and entertainment: arriving in Sydney on business-class flights with additional cabin crew to ensure exceptional service, guests will enjoy bespoke pampering withtailored menus, welcome canapés, vintage champagne, and specially embroidered linen. Each of the special events we have planned is entirely bespoke, too.”

“Under the leadership of Captain Macarone Palmieri, our entire onboard team is incredibly proud to reconvene our close-knit Venetian Society members for the World Cruise. Hotel Director Flavio Gioia, Cruise Director Vicki Van Tassel, Delegate to the Venetian Society Norman Rafelson, and the rest of our amazing crew is committed to providing exceptional service to our guests—and I look forward to greeting travellers personally, too. Approximately 20% of the voyage’s guests are new to brand, which is very high for a World Cruise, confirming the attractiveness of this memorable journey. Among our extended family, we have two guests from the U.K. who have accumulated over 2,500 days spent sailing with us before the start of the voyage,” Muckermann said.

Guests travelling aboard the World Cruise 2023 will depart Sydney on January 10, 2023, and arrive in Fort Lauderdale on May 28. The itinerary will present an extraordinary mix of destinations, from the remote wonders of Papua New Guinea, Mauritius, Réunion Island, and Cape Verde to iconic regions and cities—often unlocked on overnight calls (20 in total)—including 10 days spent exploring Tasmania and New Zealand, three days in Myanmar, and a full week in South Africa. And, for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, Silver Shadow will sail down the Amazon River to unlock the natural and cultural wonders of this legendary region. Travelling through captivating landscapes, each segment will unlock the history, culture, and spirit of the people and places visited.

The first night in Sydney entails a special Bon Voyage reception and dinner. Subsequently, exclusive World Cruise events will open doors to the sights, tastes and rhythms of local life, shining a light on regional music, art, theatre, and dance traditions with authentic performances. Each guest will enjoy the role of both spectator and storyteller.

A year later, Pavilion published her debut cookbook Asma’s Indian Kitchen, which was awarded at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Asma was the first British chef to feature on Netflix's Emmy-nominated ‘Chef's Table’, and her episode received a 2020 James Beard Award nomination. She also became the first chef to feature on Vogue's list of 25 most influential women of the year for 2020.

CHRISTINA FRANCO – Reykjavik to Copenhagen

Christina Franco grew up with a secret passion for the North Pole but was born into a world of very strict rules and expectations. Ever since hearing the first stories of explorers who slipped into frozen sleeping bags at night, exhausted after a long day of hauling sleds, she aspired to become one of those explorers. It was many years before the opportunity to live these dreams arose. Working as a guide in Italy and Africa, as well as embarking upon many expeditions across mountains and deserts, gave Christina the confidence to finally step onto the ice in 2005, when she won the Polar Race alongside teammate Justin Packshaw. There was no going back and Christina is now one of only five women who have attempted a solo crossing of the pack ice to the North Pole. Sadly, due to the melting ice, she was also the last woman to attempt this in 2010.

  • Round the Horn: Americas and Antarctica Expedition
    Dec. 10, 2023 - Feb. 11, 2024 – Three continents, 36 destinations, four wonders
The once-in-a-lifetime journey begins in Miami, the cruise capital of the world, and sets course for postcard-perfect Caribbean destinations – like the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) – before heading to glacier-studded Antarctica and around Cape Horn. Travelers can take in four of the world’s stunning wonders along the way in Central and South America, including Chichen Itza in Cozumel, Mexico; the largest art deco sculpture in the world, Christ the Redeemer, in Rio de Janeiro – where they’ll celebrate New Year’s Eve – and the largest waterfall system on the planet, Iguazu Falls near Buenos Aires, Argentina. One of the most iconic symbols of ancient Inca civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Machu Picchu, awaits in Peru, while sunshine and glamour will welcome guests in Los Angeles.

  • Wonders of Asia and the Pacific Expedition
    Feb. 11 - May 9, 2024 – Three continents, 40 destinations, three wonders
Guests will venture miles from the ordinary in Oceania, Asia and beyond on the cruise’s next showstopping leg. They can discover the beauty and adventure throughout the Hawaiian Islands’ world-renowned mountainous landscapes and black sand beaches before sailing south to Moorea and Tahiti, French Polynesia, for sapphire blue skies and crystal-clear waters. The thrills continue with an exploration of New Zealand, before a deep-dive into Australia’s Great Barrier Reef – the only living thing on the planet that’s visible from space. Pristine natural beauty in Bali, Indonesia, is soon followed by two of the most iconic manmade world wonders, the Great Wall of China and India’s Taj Mahal, and gems of the South Pacific – from Vietnam to Malaysia. Rounding out the expedition are endless possibilities in Japan, with unparalleled culture in Tokyo, street food in Osaka and the tropical beaches of Okinawa.

  • Middle East Treasures and Marvels of the Med Expedition
    May 9 - July 10, 2024 – Three continents, 44 destinations, four wonders
This expedition begins in glamorous Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and brings many of history’s greatest mysteries, myths and legends to life. Adventurers can uncover ancient sites and more world wonders from the times of emperors and pharaohs, like Jordan’s lost city of Petra, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, Turkey, and the Colosseum in Rome. There are also less-traveled places to explore, such as Greece’s Olympia, once a sanctuary site to honor Zeus and the location of the first Olympic games. The journey only continues to even more destinations known for their storied history — like Split, Croatia, and Cannes and Provence in France.

  • Capitals of Culture
    July 10 - Sept. 10, 2024 – Three continents, 40 destinations
The final leg of the Ultimate World Cruise is an immersive, cultural experience that begins in the Mediterranean and heads north. At travelers’ fingertips is the opportunity to discover Barcelona’s brilliant architecture, including Antoni Gaudi’s famed Sagrada Familia and whimsical Park Guell, and savor new flavors across continents — such as an indulgent lunch in a Parisian bistro and a dinner of tagine and mint tea in Morocco. Museums, theaters and galleries line the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia, while larger-than-life fjords await in Norway. Guests can reflect on their epic voyage in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon in Iceland before visiting New York on their way back to Miami.

Globetrotters will explore the world in style on board Serenade, thanks to Royal Caribbean’s award-winning experiences and amenities. MSC CRUISES ADDS SECOND SHIP FOR WORLD CRUISE 2023

  • MSC Cruises was forced to cancel the MSC World Cruise 2022 due to the current unavailability of ports

  • In addition to the already scheduled MSC Poesia, MSC Magnifica to be added to allow guests on canceled cruise to maintain their vacation dream in 2023

  • Sales for MSC Magnifica World Cruise 2023 opened today

Geneva, Switzerland, Oct. 13, 2021 –MSC Cruises revealed today that a second ship, MSC Magnifica, will be joining MSC Poesia on the MSC World Cruise 2023. The two ships in an industry first will host over 5,000 guests for a journey around the world and they will both depart on Jan. 4, 2023, from Civitavecchia and Jan. 5, 2023, from Genoa, Italy, for simultaneous world cruises, taking different routes around the globe.

MSC Magnifica will replicate the very same itinerary that was supposed to be performed by MSC Poesia for the MSC World Cruise 2022. The decision was made after careful consideration and assessment to cancel the

2022 World Cruise, as it would not have been possible to carry it out due to there being too many ports still facing restrictions as a result of the pandemic. MSC Magnifica will provide a solution to guests impacted by

this to have an alternative for their journey of a lifetime.

Gianni Onorato commented, “Unfortunately we had no choice, but to cancel the 2022 MSC World Cruise; however, we know that a world cruise really is the voyage of a lifetime for many people and so it was important to us to offer the best possible solution for our loyal guests. MSC Poesia’s World Cruise in 2023 was already sold out and so we worked to amend MSC Magnifica’s schedule, a popular world cruise ship, so that we are able to offer the same itinerary as 2022, only one year later, with the ship departing on the same date and calling at all of the same planned ports.”

Sales for MSC Magnifica’s World Cruise 2023 are now open and guests booked on the MSC World Cruise 2022 will be contacted shortly and given priority in re-booking their existing reservation on MSC Magnifica. For those guests who move their booking to 2023, as a measure of gratitude, the guest will be able to book a complimentary cruise between Jan. 1 and May 3, 2022, so that they can still enjoy a cruise vacation during this period[1]. MSC Poesia’s World Cruise 2023 is already sold out and has a waiting list, so this also provides an opportunity for those guests to sail on MSC Magnifica.

MSC Poesia and MSC Magnifica will set sail together in 2023 with embarkation in Civitavecchia (Jan. 4) Genoa, Italy (Jan. 5), Marseille, France (Jan. 6), and Barcelona, Spain (Jan. 7). This will be a very special celebratory moment for MSC Cruises’ guests on the two ships as they prepare to set sail around the world.

Once they cross the Mediterranean Sea, the ships will part ways in the Atlantic Ocean. MSC Magnifica will circumnavigate South America, cross the South Pacific Ocean, then on to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, and through the spectacular Suez Canal back into the Mediterranean Sea.

MSC Poesia on the other hand, will travel the Panama Canal and up the West Coast of Central America and North America whilst moving on to the Pacific Ocean and then an extended period in Asia. Crossing the Indian Ocean, the ship will then return to the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal.

2022 Grand Voyage Caribbean Idylls & Mediterranean Masterpieces redesign of previously scheduled 2022 World Cruise

MIAMI, September 9, 2021 – Today Crystal Cruises unveiled its 2022 Grand Voyage, Caribbean Idylls & Mediterranean Masterpieces, a 132-night, ocean-spanning odyssey on Crystal Serenity from Miami to Los Angeles, January 17 – May 29, 2022. The expansive, destination-rich itinerary calls upon 82 ports in 32 countries and includes 11 overnights in some of the world’s most iconic cities including Istanbul, Monte Carlo, Naples and Cannes, as well as the exclusive island enclaves of St. Barts, Madeira, the Canary Islands and more.  Rarely repeating a port of call, the 2022 Grand Voyage allows guests to indulge their wanderlust with new destinations and in-depth explorations of each region. This new Grand Voyage replaces the line’s 2022 World Cruise, which was canceled because many countries on the original itinerary remain uncertain in their ability to welcome guests back at this time.

“Our guests are extremely seasoned travelers who crave worldwide discovery, cultural immersion and the allure of exotic global destinations,” said Jack Anderson, president of Crystal. “This expansive 2022 Grand Voyage has been artfully crafted to showcase rare ports of call and unique experiences that offer our guests a new twist on even the most well-loved destinations, while inviting them to enjoy the indulgences of Michelin-level cuisine, personalized service, unmatched spaciousness and luxurious all-inclusive amenities and comforts that remain the hallmarks of the Crystal Experience.

“We know our guests, especially our extended voyage guests, consider Crystal their second home and that both our guests and crew are part of one large Crystal family. Captain Birger Vorland and his crew are excited to welcome these guests back home to Crystal since having said goodbye to the World Cruise guests in Perth last year,” Anderson continued.

The 2022 Grand Voyage’s curated 132-night itinerary was designed for travelers with a pent-up desire for longer cruise vacations, while also offering those with more limited time for globetrotting the option to choose from 11 cruise segments ranging from nine to 16-nights - perfect for today’s busy luxury traveler. With unique itineraries for each voyage segment and featured destinations including the Caribbean, Morocco, the Cote d’Azur, the Amalfi Coast, the Greek Isles, the Black Sea, the Holy Land and more, the options to create customized combinations for regional exploration are virtually endless. Reservations for the 2022 Grand Voyage will be open to 2022 World Cruise booked guests for an exclusive 10-day booking window from September 14 - 23 and to the public on September 24, 2021.

Palma-de-Mallorca_spain.jpeg

A standout feature of the 2022 Grand Voyage is the number of islands on the itinerary, 45 in total, including 19 calls in the Caribbean, and a rare immersive exploration of the Canary Islands with calls in six out of seven of the main islands and an overnight call in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Other island explorations include the Cape Verde Islands, the Azores, Madeira, Gibraltar, the Balearic Isles, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Crete, Cyprus, the Greek Isles and Bermuda.

Collectors of rare port experiences will enjoy several seldom visited ports of call showcasing incredible natural beauty and fascinating history including San Blas Islands, Panama; St. Croix, USVI; Ile des Saints, Guadeloupe; Cagliari, Sardinia; Praia and Santo Antão, Cape Verde Islands; Gaeta, Italy; Syracuse, Sicily and more.

Port-rich trans-Atlantic crossings, an abundance of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a transit of the Panama Canal, and explorations of ancient empires, legendary art, magnificent architecture and natural wonders round out this all-encompassing grand ocean voyage.

Caribbean Idylls & Mediterranean Masterpieces departs Miami on January 17, 2022, bound for the warmth of the Caribbean on voyages exploring aquamarine waters, lush landscapes and cultural riches from the ABC isles of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao to the eco-wonders of Costa Rica. Designed to follow the sun and the seasons the 2022 Grand Voyage offers guests the chance to enjoy the best weather of each destination from the sun-washed shores and balmy breezes of winter in the Caribbean to the welcoming climate of the Canary Islands, springtime in the Mediterranean and beyond.

When Crystal Serenity sets sail on the 2022 Grand Voyage, all guests (who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine) will be fully vaccinated as a requirement of the company’s Crystal Clean+ protocols, established in response to COVID-19. Guests 12 and older must be fully inoculated with a COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to departure for all 2022 Ocean voyages including those guests embarking in Miami. One hundred percent of Crystal’s officers and crew fleetwide will continue to be vaccinated in 2022 as a requirement for employment.
