Day 13 - Funchal, Madeira

We spend the day exploring Funchal on our own.

April 6, 2019 - Originally, we had planned to avail ourselves of one of Regent's complimentary shore excursions in Funchal. However, we decided a couple of days before we arrived here to turn our tickets back to the Destination Services desk and head out to explore Funchal on our own.

As I am working on my blog at 6:30am, I can see that we are sailing into the port of Funchal.

We disembarked the ship about 10:45am to find that Regent has graciously provided a shuttle service from the pier to the town center. We hop on for the 10-minute drive into town.

The shuttle drops us off across the street from a beautiful park, so we walk through and enjoy the flowers and plants.

Some local artisans have set up small booths selling a variety of handicrafts. We buy Rickee a bracelet made of cork.

Around noon, I get a little hungry and decide to try a traditional Portuguese street food called Bolo do Caco, which is basically a flat, circular bread, shaped like a cake and thus called bolo. It is traditionally cooked on a flat basalt stone slab. The bread is usually served with garlic butter, or eaten as a sandwich with different fillings. I had one filled with Chorizo sausage and garlic butter and it was pretty tasty, and a great value at only €2.50.

After my quick lunch, we walked to where the cable car goes from sea level to the top of the mountain. The cable car ride is 12,198 feet long and rises 1,837 feet. Each of the cars can hold up to eight people but there were only five in ours.

The cable car ride up to the top of the mountain cost €11 per person (round trip would be €16pp), but we had the bright idea that we would just walk back...a decision we would later regret.

When we got to the top of the mountain, we saw a strange activity going on where couples were sliding down steep roadways in little wicker basket carts with wooden rails. It looked just stupid enough to be fun, so we paid €30 and climbed aboard one!

I took a photo of Rickee in the cart before our two ‘drivers’ started pushing us down the steep mountain roads at breakneck speeds. They go around corners, turning the cart sideways to slow it down, and pushing it faster if it starts to slow down. It was really a lot of fun. The toboggan ride only lasts about five minutes, but it got us about one-third of the way down the mountain.

At the end of the toboggan ride, we were offered a taxi ride back to the city center for €26, which seemed a little steep for a five-minute taxi ride. So, we started walking down these incredibly steep streets toward town. Trust me, after about 30 minutes of walking down these streets, that €26 started to sound like a bargain! About two-thirds of the way down the mountain, we found a small local snack shop and sat to rest with a couple of Cokes. Fortunately, it was a beautiful sunny day, about 75 degrees.

We did make the walk all the way back to the ship. Who needs a shuttle? In all, we figure we walked about 3.5 miles, most of which was at a steep decline. We were both pretty sore by the time we got back. Rickee went out on the balcony to take some parting shots of Funchal as we sailed for our final destination of Lisbon.

Tonight, we returned to Pacific Rim for dinner. Rickee had a delicious Peking Duck Salad with cashews, watermelon and cucumber in a wonderful sweet fish sauce dressing.

She also had an order of the Chicken and Foie Gras Gyoza dim sum.

For her main course, she ordered the Chinese Barbecue Pork Ribs.

For my main course, I ordered the Beef Bulgogi, which was not like any Bulgogi I have had before. Typically, Bulgogi is thinly sliced meat dressed in a Bulgogi sauce then served on rice. This was more like three chunks of tenderloin with Bulgogi sauce on the side for dipping. Regardless, it was still very good.

After another filling meal at Pacific Rim, we decided to head back to the suite for an early night to bed. Tomorrow will be our last full day aboard Regent Seven Seas Explorer, as we sail towards Lisbon.

Day 12 - Superior Suite Review

Krew Kapers and reviewing the Superior Suite.

April 5, 2019 - Today is another day at sea, and it is a rocky one. The Atlantic is showing us who's boss around here. Having lunch on Deck 10 aft at Prime 7 had a few of us stumbling around the dining room before finally being seated. Rickee ordered her favorite, the BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders.

Lunch at Prime 7 includes one of the most amazing and interesting desserts we have seen: a carousel of treats, perfect for two people to share.

We returned to our suite after lunch to find it in perfect condition, thanks to our excellent stewardess, Hazel, and her assistant, Widi. They have been doing an admirable job of cleaning up after us. Every time we return to our suite, everything is is in order.

Hazel reminded us of today's Krew Kapers performance at 6:00pm in the Constellation Theater. Each cruise, the crew puts on a show for guests highlighting their own talents. It is always great fun.

We spent most of the day in our suite, which gave us a chance to really think about what we have enjoyed about these accommodations. Rather than write on and on about the various features, we decided to put together a video review as part of our cruise vlog.

Day 11 - Ponta Delgada, Azores (Portugal)

We get soaked on a dolphin safari, have dinner at Sette Mari and take a trip back to the 60s

April 4, 2019 -This morning, Seven Seas Explorer is docked in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal. Ponta Delgada is the largest municipality and capital of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in Portugal. Even though it is cloudy and cool this morning, we do see periods of sunshine peeking through the clouds.

We have booked the Whale and Dolphin Safari which departs at 12:45pm.

Our afternoon excursion departure allows us plenty of time to sleep late and have room service deliver a delicious breakfast to our suite. As you can see, the table setting from room service is quite elegant.

Rickee and I both ordered Eggs Benedict, and everything arrived warm and delicious.

We skip lunch today after our late breakfast and, at 12:45, leave the ship for the short walk to the Ponta Delgada cruise terminal.

After meeting our local guide for the day, our group walked about two blocks to the tour operator's office, which is located at the marina, just across from where Seven Seas Explorer is docked. We are each given "waterproof" pants and tops, as well as life vests. We also get a short safety briefing before we walk to the marina to board the Zodiacs.

The Zodiacs can hold from 10 to 14 people and we boarded one of the larger boats. Guests sit two abreast in the Zodiac, straddling a padded bench.

The farther we got from shore, the rougher the seas got. We eventually arrived at a location where we discovered a pod of Bottlenose dolphins, which were fun to watch, but the seas by now were really giving us a pounding.

Sea water was continually splashing over the sides of the Zodiac, bathing us with sea water. The rubber pants and tops we were provided did not prevent our shoes and socks from getting completely soaked, as well as parts of our clothes underneath the rubber garments. As you can see in the photo below, we were getting pounded with sea water. If you did not have a waterproof camera, it would get ruined.

The trip back to shore was long and very rough. When we finally pulled alongside Seven Seas Explorer, I don't think I have ever been so happy to see a cruise ship! Had the seas not been so rough, or, if we had seen more than just dolphins (which we have seen dozens of times), perhaps we would have a much different opinion of this excursion. But, if we had it to do over, we would have skipped this one and just walked around Ponta Delgada on our own.

Once we were back on board Explorer, we hung our clothes up to dry. I am pretty sure our shoes are ruined and will have to be thrown away. But, once we changed into dry clothes, we chose to head to Sette Mari for dinner (Deck 11 aft).

We were pleased to see that the menu has changed since the first time we dined here. In fact, the menu changes every couple of days. The meal starts with a glass of Prosecco and a beautiful basket of Italian breads. Olive oil and Balsamic are poured for dipping.

Several plates of antipasti are placed on the table as starters. There is also a large self-serve salad bar with additional starters available. I also ordered an appetizer of Spaghetti Carbonara which was delicious. Soon after my appetizer, my main course arrived: three grilled lamb chops, perfectly cooked and delicious. In fact, these are the best lamb chops I have had on Seven Seas Explorer (even better than those I ate at Chartreuse).

Rickee ordered Spaghetti Bolognese, which she said was very good.

Sette Mari is located on the port side of La Veranda, the ship's buffet restaurant (breakfast and lunch). Each evening, the space becomes an intimate Italian-themed restaurant with an open kitchen.

After dinner, there is a very nice selection of tempting desserts at the buffet area, like these Mascarpone Peach Tartlets.

After our dinner, we had enough time for a quick drink at Observation Lounge before heading to the Constellation Theater on Deck 4 for the second production show of the cruise: "My Revolution". The theme of the show was "If you remember the 60s, you weren't there." The show starts with a teenage girl getting her first glimpse of The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show as her parents look on in confusion.

The show continues through the 60s with song and dance performed by the Seven Seas Explorer Singers and Dancers. The production was very well choreographed and featured a lot of excellent popular music from the 60s. Again, the vocals and dance continue to impress.

Of special note are the amazing talents of world-champion ballroom dance couple, Max and Safiya.

The show ended with the audience on their feet giving the cast a rousing standing ovation. It was an excellent performance that everyone enjoyed.

Tonight, we have to move our clocks forward one more hour, so we lose an hour of sleep. And, tomorrow will be another day at sea as we sail to Funchal, Portugal.

Day 10 - Horta, Azores (Portugal)

We arrive in the Azores. We tour the site of a devestating volcano then enjoy a relazing evening in the Observation Lounge.

April 3, 2019 - This morning, the sun was shining as we ended our four days at sea, approaching the port city of Horta, Azores, Portugal.

After a quick lunch at the Pool Grill, we walked down the long pier where Regent Seven Seas Explorer was docked.

At the end of the pier, we found the waiting motor coaches for the 40-minute drive to Capelinhos.

Along the way, our local tour guide pointed out many interesting sights and historic facts about Horta. When we arrived at our destination, it looked like the surface of the moon. Everything was covered in meters of gray ash left after the volcano erupted. Only one story of the two-story lighthouse tower was visible in the distance.

The Interpretive Center and Museum is actually located underneath the lighthouse structure, and is quite impressive.

Our guide walked us through the museum, describing the effect of the Capelinhos volcano, which erupted in 1957 and continued to erupt for 13 months. The lava flow from the undersea volcano expanded the land mass by 2.4 kilometers.

Even though many homes, including the lighthouse, were destroyed by the volcano, nobody was killed by the event. After exiting the Interpretive Center, we could see the area affected by the eruption. The winds were blowing a very fine dust of lava ash that could easily irritate your eyes.

We departed Capelinhos for the drive back to Horta, learning more about the island along the way. We arrived back in time to watch from our balcony as Horta disappeared in the distance as Seven Seas Explorer sailed for Ponta Delgada.

For sailaway, we decided to visit the Observation Lounge for a cocktail, which we enjoyed to the sounds of Pavlo on the piano.

Day 08 - Cooking Competition and Juliette Primrose

This day at sea begins with an Iron Chef-style cooking competition. We have lunch and dinner at Chartreuse Restaurant followed by an afternoon James Bond experience. This evening’s entertainment is excellent solo-fiddler, Juliette Primrose.

April 1, 2019 - We begin our second week aboard Regent Seven Seas Explorer with a third day at sea (only one more to go!) as we sail toward Horta, Portugal. This morning, the galley crew was working hard to get the Constellation Theater stage set for an "Iron Chef"-style cooking competition between Captain Rosario Giovanni Vasta, General Manager, Michael Coghlan, and Dining Room Manager, Maria Tancredi.

Each contestant selected an audience member as an assistant and each team had 20 minutes to prepare a salmon dish. The competition was heated as Executive Chef, Dino Schwager, and Cruise Director, Lorraine Weimerskirch, gave commentary throughout the competition. It was a lot of fun to watch, and General Manager Coghlan finally took top honors.

After the cooking competition, we chose to have lunch at Chartreuse, Seven Seas Explorer's French restaurant. The menu definitely had a French flair and the restaurant is quite elegant.

I ordered the Chartreuse version of French Onion Soup, which is missing the large cheesy crust we are used to seeing. However, the broth was very good.

Rickee had a Croque Madame with layers of thinly-sliced ham and white bread wrapped in cheese and baked, then topped with a sunnyside-up egg. It was very filling.

Today we enjoyed a pre-dinner show, “A James Bond Experience,” in the Constellation Theater. The Seven Seas Explorer Singers and Dancers turned into secret agents and "Bond girls" and put on another great, and fun show. Martinis (shaken, not stirred), were served to all guests and Moneypenny was there to greet everyone.

Even Moneypenny (Cruise Direfctor, Lorraine Weimerskirch), surprised us with her own solo vocal performance. Everyone had a great time and this is a show that is not to be missed.

We had made reservations early on to dine in Chartreuse this evening, so at 7:00pm, we were back to see what dinner was like. We were seated at a perfect table for two at the back of the restaurant with an ocean view. The restaurant was packed with guests and service was a bit slow.

After dinner, it was back to the Constellation Theater for a solo violin performance by Ms. Juliette Primrose. Ms. Primrose is an accomplished violinist who toured the globe as lead fiddle-player for Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance from 2003 until 2011 including US, Canada, Europe, South Africa, Latin America and Asia. Her show included a wide variety of music styles from Country & Western, to Classical and Celtic. It was an amazing performance.

After a full day of entertainment, we are ready for bed. Tomorrow is our final day at sea before we arrive at Horta, Portugal (Azores).

Day 07 - Culinary Arts Kitchen

I attend a class at the Culinary Arts Kitchen and we enjoy an incredible evening show

March 31, 2019 - This morning I had booked a class at the Culinary Arts Kitchen with the theme "Master of Fire, Heat & Grill".

I arrived at the Kitchen at my 9:50 assigned time where, along with 13 other guests, I was greeted by Chef Karlis Celms. The Culinary Arts Kitchen is a full-blown culinary classroom with 16 individual cooking stations where guests can learn the finer points of food preparation, cooking and plating techniques.

Each station has two induction burners, an apron, towel and all required kitchen tools necessary for the tasks at hand.

Chef Celms invites guests to gather 'round the main cooking station at the front of the classroom for him to demonstrate the techniques for each step of the three-course meal preparation.

After each of the Chef's demonstrations, we return to our stations to follow the steps he demonstrated.

Our first task is to grill some vegetables, as well as a piece of Ciabatta bread, so we can make a grilled vegetable and Romanesco bruschetta.

After the final product is plated, then we get to eat!

Our next task is to sear two sea scallops using some Moroccan spice rub.

After the scallops are properly seared per Chef Celms’ instructions, we get to enjoy two delicious (and perfectly cooked, I might add) scallops along with two specially prepared sauces.

Our final test was to grill a piece of flank steak to medium rare.

The cost for the Culinary Arts Center class was $89 and it takes about two hours. It is a real bargain and one of the most enjoyable things you can do, if you like to cook, or want to learn how.

For this evening's entertainment, we enjoyed an incredible show by singer, Jenene Caramielo. Her vocals are amazing and we are looking forward to hearing her entertain again in two days.

Day 06 - Dinner at Compass Rose

Morning coffee, a visit to Canton Ranch Salon and dinner at Compass Rose.

March 30, 2019 - The seas have smoothed out considerably, making for a much more pleasurable day at sea. My mornings usually begin pretty early. Typically, by 6:00am I am having coffee and working on the blog about the previous day's activities. The best place I have found for this task is the Coffee Connection on Deck 5.

There is comfortable seating here with tables that are the perfect height for working on a laptop. A Barista is available to make any specialty coffee drinks you might like, all complimentary, of course. Or, you can manage your own coffee delivery, as I do, using the automated coffee machine.

The machine can crank out an Espresso, Americano or Cappuccino in regular or decaf. The coffee coming from the machine is actually quite good. Of course, diehard coffee aficionados will use the services of the Barista.

A complete continental-style breakfast is also available here. There are donuts, sweet rolls, muffins, bagels, toast, fruit and more. Yogurt and cereals are also offered.

With another blog under the belt and posted, I decided to attend a lecture this morning on The Mighty Atlantic by Michael Scott. Rickee was spending the morning getting a new haircut at Canyon Ranch Spa's salon. Regent provides coffee, soft drinks and sweet rolls at the entrance to the Constellation Theater for those attending the lecture.

Our Team Trivia efforts today yielded two Regent Rewards (second place). The Regent Rewards can be redeemed for prizes at the end of the cruise. The points are given out to guests who participate in a variety of onboard activities. Rickee also completes the Mensa quiz each day and usually racks up points for that, too.

After a pre-dinner cocktail at Observation Lounge (Deck 11 forward), we decided to make our first visit to Compass Rose for dinner. Compass Rose is Explorer's main traditional cruise dining venue with open seating. The elaborate light fixtures and elegant table settings make this one of the most beautiful main dining restaurants we have ever seen.

Regent has spared no expense in outfitting this dining room with the finest furnishings, charger plates and flatware.

The menu is huge, with the largest selection of "Always Available" items we have ever seen. In fact, all the items on the left side of the menu are always available.

The right side of the menu displays the chef's menu Dégustation as well as daily specials. When the restaurant is full, it can get a bit noisy, like most large venues. Couples wanting to dine alone will be pleased to know that there are quite a few two-top tables. Service was crisp and professional.

Day 05 - DInner at Pacific Rim

We spend the day aboard Seven Seas Explorer and have dinner at Pacific Rim

March 29,2019 - The great thing about a cruise is that there are so many choices of things to do. And, one of those choices is to do nothing at all. That is pretty much how we decided to spend today, relaxing and just taking it easy.

For lunch today, I decided I would try a burger at the Pool Grill. There is a wide variety of burgers available, but I wanted to keep it simple and just try the Classic Black Angus Cheeseburger.

The burger arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was quite good. I wish they offered onion rings here but, as with many cruise lines, they do not. When my Diet Coke arrived, I noticed the ecologically-correct paper straws are being used now. I have not seen one of these in 50 years.

After an abysmal performance at Team Trivia today, we watched as Seven Seas Explorer sailed away from Bermuda.

From our balcony, we could see a tugboat using a rope to pull Seven Seas Explorer away from the dock. There are very high winds today so it most likely took the ship's aft thrusters, along with the tug, to pull away from the pier. But soon, the ship was turning to port and heading out to sea on her way to the Azores.

We chose to have our pre-dinner drink tonight in Meridian Lounge on Deck 5. It is the closest lounge to Pacific Rim (Deck 5 aft). Meridian is a bit brighter than the other lounges, with white leather seats. There is a dance floor and stage for musical acts.

At 6pm, a waiter offered us a choice of canapes to enjoy with our drinks. This is a nice touch, and one that you typically only find on luxury cruise lines.

We arrived at Pacific Rim at 6:30 for our reservation. Pacific Rim is the ship's Pan Asian restaurant.

Our waitress brought use an amuse bouche of papadum and sweet chili sauce which was very good. The menu is quite extensive with a wide variety of Asian offerings. We will go into more detail on the menu in our final review of Pacific Rim.

We chose to order three appetizers to share, which turned out to be much more food than we were expecting. My favorite was the Pork and Shrimp Shu Mai dumplings topped with black truffle.

The Assorted Sushi Platter had two Salmon Avacado Rolls, Two Spicy Tuna Rolls and Two Shrimp Tempura Rolls.

The Crispy Duck Spring Rolls were served with a smoked Hoisin Miso sauce

I thought all of the appetizers were quite good, with my favorite being the Shu Mai. For our main courses, Rickee had the Miso Black Cod (below) which was cooked perfectly and delicious, although, she was left wanting for more of the delicious Miso sauce.

My main course was a Thai Chicken Green Curry that was fragrant, spicy and excellent. I ordered it extra spicy, and even with the cautious hand of a cruise ship chef (always afraid to over spice), it had enough of a kick to make things interesting. Both main courses were accompanied by bowls of Regent Fried Rice and Jasmine Rice.

We were so stuffed after dinner, there was no way we could try any of the delicious-sounding desserts. We will know better next time not to order so many starters.

Day 04 - Royal Naval Dockyards

After a very rocky night caused by rough seas and high winds, Seven Seas Explorer docked at Royal Naval Dockyards…

March 28, 2019 - After a very rocky night caused by rough seas and high winds, Seven Seas Explorer docked at Royal Naval Dockyards (aka King's Wharf) in Bermuda. Once again, we had breakfast delivered to our suite, but it was a little too cool and way too windy to dine on the balcony. Every guest can have breakfast delivered to their suite by completing the provided order form the night before and placing it outside their suite.

It was extremely windy when we disembarked the ship in Bermuda. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance of the ship. There are some great sights to visit, such as the Victualling Yard (below), the area designated for storing, preparing and delivering food for the naval fleet there.

Less than a mile from the ship is a nice shopping mall with several small shops selling lots of local artists' wares.

We were able to locate a store that sold souvenirs where we were able to buy postcards, a magnet, a Christmas ornament (for our collection) and postage.

We were back on board the ship in time to get ready for our early (6:30pm) dinner at Prime 7, Regent's premier steakhouse restaurant. We had time for a cocktail in the small bar at Prime 7. Another guest was gracious enough to take this photo of us. I am wearing my new Scott-E-Vest T5 Sport Coat which is super comfortable, fits great and has 19 pockets! It's my new favorite travel sport coat.

Prime 7 is located on Deck 10 aft and we were fortunate to be seated at a table for two at the very back of the restaurant with a panoramic ocean view.

The menu features a variety of appetizers, soups, and salads. The main courses focus on meat, but there are fish, chicken and vegetarian options available. After a delicious smokey tomato soup Amuse Bouche, our starters arrived. Rickee ordered the Foie Gras sliders: two brioche buns stacked with apricot compote, foie gras, an onion compote and drizzled with a truffle port wine sauce.

I chose a more mainstream Seared Lump Crabcake which was seasoned perfectly and delicious.

My Hearts of Romaine Caesar salad was sort of a de-constructed Caesar Salad. The stalks of romaine were topped with Parmesan shavings and accompanied by a delicious, garlicky Caesar dressing. I purposely requested that the anchovies be left off.

My 18oz. U.S.D.A. Prime Bone-In Ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. I ordered a side of Chimichurri sauce, but the steak did not need any assistance in the flavor department.

Rickee's 6oz. U.S.D.A. Prime Filet Mignon arrived a bit undercooked, but was quickly replaced with one that was cooked perfectly Medium.

For side dishes, we shared an order of onion rings and creamed spinach. Both fell short in our opinion. The onion rings were a bit too greasy and the creamed spinach was very loose and runny, impossible to eat with a fork.

For dessert we shared an ice cream dish with vanilla and chocolate ice cream drizzled with hot fudge, caramel and topped with caramel popcorn.

Service from the wait staff and wine hostess was excellent. Our dinner at Prime 7 was one of our favorites so far on Seven Seas Explorer, and we look forward to a return visit.

Day 03 - Lunch at Prime 7

A relaxing day at sea

March 27, 2019 - While Rickee attended a 'Face Shape and Hair Styling' workshop at the Canyon Ranch Spa, I sat in on a lecture by Michael Scott titled 'Watching Wildlife on our Cruise'.

After the lecture and spa seminar, we decided to try Prime 7 for lunch. Prime 7 is Seven Seas Explorer's steakhouse, but is open for lunch. The menu today focuses on BBQ.

Rickee started with a Roasted Beet Salad, which she loved.

I could not resist the BBQ Baby Back Ribs, served with a warm potato salad and corn on the cob. It was very good.

The dessert was a real treat. a carousel of different little cups filled with a variety of desserts.

This afternoon, we returned to the Constellation Theater for Team Trivia. Trivia is so popular on Transatlantic sailings that the theater is the only venue large enough to hold everyone.

At 6pm this evening, when the cocktail bell sounded, we stepped outside our suite for Regent's "Block Party". Everyone is invited grab a glass from their suite and venture into the hallways to meet and greet their neighbors while suite attendants fill glasses with wine and offer canapes. The Captain, Cruise Director and Hotel Manager breeze through the halls, greeting each guest one deck at a time. We also had the opportunity to meet the President and CEO of RSSC, Jason Montague, who joined in the trek from top deck to bottom while greeting guests. This hallway party is always fun and something unique to a Regent Seven Seas' cruise.

After our huge lunch at Prime 7, we decided to skip dinner and enjoy a cocktail at Explorer Lounge.

Day 02 - Dinner at Sette Mari

Breakfast Al Fresco, Hamburger Heaven and Paradise

March 26, 2019 - We started the day with a beautiful breakfast delivered right to our suite balcony. The balcony table was set with while linen table cloth in true 5-star dining fashion.

My omelet, bacon and sausage were also delicious. And, the coffee and hot chocolate were also very good.

After breakfast, we did some more exploring around the ship. The pool deck was already beginning to fill up with guests seeking some sun. The pool loungers are top quality and wrapped in terry cloth, each with its own towel.

We stopped by the Card Room to pick up the daily Mensa quiz, one of Rickee's favorite activities. For lunch today, the galley has put together Hamburger Heaven at the Pool Grill. A variety of burger patties, buns and "fixin's" were available for guests to make their own burger creation.

We spent much of the day just relaxing and getting some of our blogging duties caught up. For dinner this evening, we decided to try Sette Mari, the Italian restaurant located on the port side of La Veranda, the ship's buffet restaurant. In the evenings, La Veranda transforms into a romantic Italian restaurant.

I ordered a veal chop that was huge, and way too much for me to finish. It was a battered and deep fried veal chop covered with marinara and melted mozzarella cheese. Rickee's Risotto with asparagus was also delicious.

After dinner, we decided to take in the evening show in the Constellation Theater. Seating in the lower level of the theater is quite comfortable with good sight lines.  We sat in the Balcony (Deck 5) and there were a few sight line issues there from posts and safety railings. Viewing is better on Deck 4.

The show was quite good with excellent dance routines, good vocals and impressive costumes and staging.

Tomorrow is another day at sea aboard Regent Seven Seas Explorer as we sail towards Bermuda.
