Day 3 - Tokyo, Japan

This morning, I ordered coffee and hot chocolate from room service. Our butler delivered our order quickly. Both drinks were hot, but Rickee’s hot chocolate was not very sweet and was a bit watery.

As you can see, we are still dealing with rain here in Tokyo.

Still raining

We decided to give Atlantide another try for breakfast this morning. I tried the avocado toast with poached eggs and Rickee ordered the Eggs Benedict. Both of our poached egg orders were undercooked with very runny egg whites. And, once again, the wimpy serving of corned beef hash appeared. I think we are giving up on Atlantide for breakfast.

One other disturbing discovery at Atlantide was the handrail next to where we were seated had a significant layer of dust. This is unacceptable for a luxury cruise line. Or, any cruise line for that matter.

We decided to stay out of the rain and enjoy the onboard games and activities. Below, we partake in a game of bean bag toss in Panorama Lounge.

For lunch today, we decided to try Kaisecki, Silversea’s Japanese specialty restaurant. Lunch at Kaisecki is complimentary while dinner carries a $40 per person upcharge.

The lunch menu at Kaisecki on Silver Moon is much less impressive than it was on Silver Ray in 2024. They do not offer the Bao Buns, which were our favorites. We don’t know if they have removed them fleetwide, or if there is a difference in the Silver Ray offerings. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, which was made fresh and was very good. However, if not for the accompanying wasabi, It was basically just a tuna roll. Rickee had the Miso Ramen which was just okay.

This afternoon, we participated in a table tennis tournament in Panorama Lounge.

At 6:30pm, there was an early evening show put on by a group of local Japanese musicians and dancers. The show was very lively and entertaining.

For dinner this evening, we had reservations at Silver Note, Silversea’s Jazz Supper Club. The atmosphere here is very dark, making it hard to take pictures of the food. There is a pianist and jazz singer performing during dinner. Our table had us sitting very close to the entertainers, making it a very noisy meal.

The menu at Silver Note has always been very eclectic, and bordering on confusing. You can basically order any item, or multiple items, from any of the categories on the menu. But honestly, it seems a bit gimmicky and unnecessarily complicated.

Unfortunately, the execution of the dishes did not live up to the menu descriptions. Plating of nearly every dish we tried was really messy looking. This was not the same dining experience that we had on Silver Ray. On Silver Ray, the taste and presentation of the dishes at Silver Note was much better.

Beef tenderloin

After a disappointing dinner experience, we headed back to our suite. Tomorrow is a day at sea.
