As you can see, we did not depart Tokyo last night as scheduled. Silver Moon has remained docked here due to an approaching Typhoon.
This morning, we decide to visit Atlantide for breakfast. We much prefer a full menu service breakfast to the more popular breakfast buffet at La Terrazza. Not shown on the menu below is a variety of breakfast meats (ham, Canadian bacon, English bacon, American bacon and sausages).
I ordered three eggs over medium with a side of avocado, corned beef hash and English bacon. The eggs were cooked over hard, I am pretty sure I got Canadian bacon instead of English bacon and the portion of corned beef has was stupid small. Not a good start.
Rickee got the waffles, which were soggy (not crisp) and cold. Our first breakfast at Atlantide was a fail.
Silver Moon operates a complimentary shuttle to and from Tokyo Maranuchi Station. We have been told that there are no plans for the ship to sail tonight, so we will be here for another day. Next to the gangway, there is a table with ice water where guests can refill their Silversea water bottles before disembarking, or when they re-embark the ship. This is a nice touch, but we miss the days of complimentary plastic water bottles.
In addition to complimentary umbrellas, Silversea also provides complimentary ponchos to protect guests from the rain.
The rain today was off and on. It let up long enough to get this photo with the ship.
Rather than take the shuttle into town, we decided to grab an Uber for a short drive to a nearby Don Quijote store. Rickee wanted to do some souvenir shopping.
Don Quijote stores are all over Tokyo and a real tourist must-see. The stores are huge and they sell everything from clothing to cosmetics to luggage. It is sort of like a massive, noisy, crowded and chaotic WalMart!
When we got back on board, since it was Sunday (my cheat day), we headed to Spaccanapoli for lunch. This is Silversea’s pizza restaurant. Pizzas are made to order and are very good. In fact, in the past, I have ranked this as the best pizza at sea. These pies were no exception. They were delicious. However, we did not receive the olives and parmesan starter that we have been served on previous Silversea cruises.
The pizza was so filling that we skipped dinner this evening and decided to enjoy a cocktail in Panorama Lounge. Rickee had her favorite: a lemon drop martini.

Unfortunately, we learned that we will not be sailing until tomorrow night and we received an updated itinerary. The new schedule means that we will no longer be overnighting in Osaka and we will completely miss Hiroshima. This is a big disappointment to most of the guests onboard.
