Day 5 Isla de Roatan, Honduras
MSC Seascape is docked at Isla de Roatan this morning. It is a beautiful sunny day in Roatan today, and not too hot.
As I am working on my morning blog, I see the massive Star of the Seas (the largest cruise ship in the world) sail into Roatan.

After a nice breakfast at Top Sail Restaurant (MSC Yacht Club’s private restaurant) we head out to explore Roatan. MSC Seascape is disembarking guests at three locations today: forward, midship and aft. The forward disembarkation point is the closest for Yacht Club guests. Signs are posted to clearly indicate All Aboard times. MSC also sends a text to anyone with the MSC for Me app installed to remind them of all aboard times.
All aboard times are clearly defined
The walk down the long pier takes less than 10 minutes. It has been several years since we visited Roatan. Now there is a new shopping complex at the end of the pier that was not there on our previous visit.

The shopping and entertainment complex at the end of the pier has wide walking paths and lots of souvenir shops and clothing stores. Even though Star of the Seas is docked here, and Norwegian Dawn is tendering its passengers into Roatan, this shopping complex is much better at handling the crowds than the one at Costa Maya.
Once again, we are not doing any shore excursions here. We just want to walk around and do some shopping and take in the sights.

One of our hobbies is collecting refrigerator magnets from the places we visit. We have more than 200 in our collection now. The first souvenir store we come to has the largest selection of magnets we have ever seen!

Rickee finds a clothing store that has some interesting linen pants and shirts which might be a good fit for our upcoming Mediterranean cruise.
We spend about an hour walking around the shopping district before heading back to MSC Seascape. At the forward entrance to the ship, there is a special MSC Yacht Club tent set up with comfortable chairs and cold refreshments. This is yet another nice perk of sailing in the MSC Yacht Club.
Once back onboard, we head to Deck 8 to get our steps in. We try to get at least 10,000 steps per day and we have been doing pretty well so far.
During our walk, we notice several loungers with these signs on the back to discourage saving lounge chairs. We have not seen any shortage of empty loungers on this cruise, even though we were told the ship was completely full.
Does this discourage lounge chair hogs?
This afternoon, we visit the Top Sail Lounge once again where we enjoy their daily specialty cocktail prepared tableside by two of the Yacht Club butlers.

We decided to try another show this evening. MSC Yacht Club guests enjoy reserved seating for all of the shows, yet another nice perk of being in the Yacht Club. A butler will even escort you from the Yacht Club down to the theater.
Tonight’s show is “Love Blooms”. Honestly, if this had been the first show we attended, I don’t think we would have come back. The singers, dancers and acrobatic performers are all very talented. The recorded music and theater sound system are also very good. But, they have issues with their stage lighting. We noticed this with the first show we attended. Several times during the show, the main singer will be standing in near total darkness until the tech finally realized that he needs to direct the spotlight onto the singer. After awhile, it gets distracting.
This was not our favorite show.

Tomorrow, MSC Seascape will be docked in Cozumel at Punta Langosta.
