Day 8 - Busan, South Korea

It was another cloudy and rainy day when we arrived in Busan, South Korea. We disembarked for the complimentary shuttle which runs between the port terminal and the Busan shopping district.

Complimentary shuttles run every 30 minutes making it very convenient to get from the port into town.

Complimentary shuttles

We catch one of the early afternoon shuttles which drops us off right across the street from Olive Young, a famous personal care/cosmetic store. The store is huge with four different levels. Think of a Sephora on steroids. Rickee is mesmerized by all of the Korean skin care products here.

We got back to the ship in time to get ready for an early evening dinner at S.A.L.T. Kitchen. We stopped to take a photo of our suite from the hallway.

S.A.L.T. Kitchen (stands for Sea and Land Taste) is another concept restaurant that highlights dishes from the regions where the ship is sailing. Tonight, it is Korean cuisine. The restaurant is the second largest dining venue next to Atlantide. Honestly, our previous meals at S.A.L.T. Kitchen on other Silversea ships have been sort of meh.

Tonight at S.A.L.T. Kitchen, we were pleasantly surprised by excellent service, a very uncrowded dining room and some great menu choices. The breads brought out before the meal service were all excellent. My meat and vegetable skewers were served hot and were tasty. The Korean fried chicken wing had a sticky sweet-and-spicy sauce that was messy, but delicious.

The real highlight was the Beef Bulgogi. The meat was tender and the sauce, very flavorful.

Rickee had the Hong Kong Roast Baby Chicken and she devoured it.

Our meal at S.A.L.T. Kitchen was definitely a highlight of the dining on this cruise and the best S.A.L.T. Kitchen experience we have had out of four Silversea ships.

Tomorrow is another day at sea as we sail towards Kanazawa, Japan.
