Documents and Website
Our documents arrived today for our upcoming Christmas Markets river cruise on Avalon Waterways' Avalon Vista.
Avalon documentation is pretty extensive and arrives inside of a sturdy, vinyl folder with a magnetic closure. Everything will fit nicely in a backpack or carry-on bag. Cruise tickets and other pertinent documents are bound in a small booklet, one for each booked guest. All of the information is well laid out and easy to navigate.
The Travel Documents booklet has some very helpful information including local contact phone numbers (in Europe) just in case you need to reach someone with Avalon. A full description of the itinerary is included along with arrival procedures at the airport and transfer information.
The Hints for Cruise Passengers brochure covers general travel information such as Customs and Immigration, Passport requirements, airport security and check-in information, money and currency, etc.
Along with luggage labels to be attached to each piece of checked luggage, Avalon also includes a very high-quality, metal, embossed luggage tag.
Avalon Waterways also has a web portal for registered guests for pre-registration, making payments, reviewing and booking shore excursions, emergency contact information, etc.
If the website and the documents are any indication of the onboard experience, we have a lot to look forward to on Avalon Waterways. We are just a few weeks away from departure and we are excited to experience this new (to us) river cruise line!
