Day 9 - Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos

This is our next to last day on Rotterdam and today we are docked in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands. Like every morning so far, I start the day with an Americano at Grand Dutch Cafe.

There are no plastic bottles of water available on Rotterdam; instead, they have cans of water (see below).

Cans of water

That canned water comes at a hefty price of $3.25 per can plus 18% service charge.

We can see Grand Turk from our balcony this morning. It is a beautiful, but windy day.

It is a short walk from the ship into the port shopping area.

Like many of these newly built ports, you enter the shopping area through a duty free shop.

Tonight, we had dinner at Rudi’s Sel de Mer, a French seafood bistro.

Rickee’s Foie Gras starter was one of the best she has ever had.

My fried calamari starter was amazing and the best calamari I have every eaten.

It was a great meal at Rudi’s. Perhaps the best meal of the cruise. Tomorrow is our final day at sea before we are scheduled to arrive back in Port Everglades.
