Day 2 - Day at Sea
Today is a day at sea aboard MSC Seascape and we have been blessed with calm seas. My morning begins at 5:45am in the Top Sail Lounge on Deck 16 forward. The Top Sail Lounge is the private lounge reserved for guests staying in the MSC Yacht Club. I was pleased to discover that they do offer an Early Riser’s coffee service beginning at 6am. I found a table for two in a very secluded location that is perfect for my morning blogging and photo/video editing.

At 6am the Top Sail Lounge offers a variety of pastries and a few savory treats.

The Daily Program is available on the MSC for Me app, but a printed version is also available upon request. We asked our Butler to place one in our suite each evening at turn down. And yes, Yacht Club suites do enjoy two stateroom services per day.

For lunch today, we wanted to check out the Yacht Club Pool Grill buffet on Deck 20 forward. However, by the time we arrived, it was extremely windy and all of the tables protected from the wind were already occupied. We decided to try the Pool Grill buffet on a port day when it is less crowded and we won’t have the wind to contend with.

We decided to go back to the Yacht Club Restaurant on Deck 18 for lunch today. We both enjoyed a bowl of delicious Cream of Mushroom soup. I would rate the soup an 8 out of 10. I ordered a lasagna dish that had a white cream sauce instead of the traditional tomato sauce. I am pretty sure this was a vegetarian offering and it was good, but nothing special. It gets a 6 out of 10 from me.

Rickee ordered the most popular dish on the menu, the Fish and Chips. We both commented on how it seemed to take a long time for our main courses to be delivered. Her fried cod filets were crisp and hot, however, the French Fries, once again, were served lukewarm. She rates her meal at an 8 out of 10.

After lunch, we decided to tempt fate at the Casino by playing a couple of slot machines. We won $60 on the first machine. We should have quit while we were ahead, but no, greed has a way of taking over. The second machine took back all of our winnings. But, we got to play for about an hour and did not lose any money!

Rickee decided to conduct her Lemon Drop Martini test today. The first one was ordered at the Seascape Bar on Deck 5. Unfortunately, this Lemon Drop got a thumbs down from Rickee. This evening before we went to the theater, we stopped by the Top Sail Lounge and this Lemon Drop Martini got a big thumbs up!

We decided to skip dinner this evening and just enjoy a cocktail at the Top Sail Lounge before heading to the theater for tonight’s show.
Our Junior Butler, Hermes, escorted us down to the reserved Yacht Club Seating area in the theater, which is roped off and guarded by Yacht Club butlers. There are several rows of seats reserved for Yacht Club guests. About 10 minutes before the show begins, the ropes are removed so other guests can access the seats. This reserved seating is another nice perk of being in the Yacht Club.
Tonight’s show, “"Premiere", was a collection of popular movie theme songs performed by the ship’s four vocalists and eight dancers. We have never been overly impressed with MSC entertainment in the past, but this show was quite entertaining and worth seeing. The entertainment is still not at the level of NCL or Celebrity, but it is much better than in the past. The costumes and set design, augmented by the huge LED screen, shows that MSC is working on elevating their entertainment product.

Tomorrow is another day at sea aboard MSC Seascape.
