Guests will follow ancient trade routes, sailing the waters that connected the Silk Road, and transiting both the Panama and Suez canals; they will step foot on some of the world’s most remote islands, including those in the South Pacific, a region explored by Captain James Cook in the 18th century; and they will witness lands that inspired scientific progression, such as Western Australia, which attracted Charles Darwin in 1836.

NINE SEGMENTS, SIX CONTINENTS, 26 NEW DESTINATIONS

‘The Curious and the Sea’ will be divided into nine segments, connecting some of the planet’s most enriching experiences. Highlights of Silversea’s World Cruise 2026 will include:

  • A TALE OF TWO OCEANS: Fort Lauderdale to Callao (Lima) – January 6-January 19: Following a curated travel experience—including private executive transfers, Business class air, and a dedicated meet and greet service—world cruising guests will unite at an exclusive Bon Voyage reception in Fort Lauderdale on the evening of January 5, before spending a pre-cruise night in a luxury hotel and embarking Silver Dawn at leisure on January 6. Departing on January 6, Silver Dawn will call in Cozumel (Quintana Roo) and Puerto Limón (Costa Rica) for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, before passing through the Panama Canal via Colon, arriving in Manta—another World Cruise first—and Callao (Lima).

  • AN EXPLORER’S PARADISE: Callao (Lima) to Papeete, Tahiti – January 19-February 7: Visited on a Silversea World Cruise for the first time since 2020, Easter Island will welcome Silver Dawn on an overnight call on January 25—known for its mysterious Moai statues, ancient history, and rugged landscapes. A 20-day deep dive of French Polynesia and the South Pacific follows, with all-new calls for a Silversea World Cruise in Nuku Hiva, the Marquesas Islands; Atuona, Hiva Oa, the Marquesas Islands; and Fakarava, with its UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, in the Tuamotu Archipelago. Other highlight destinations will include iconic Bora Bora and Papeete in French Polynesia. A bespoke World Cruise event in French Polynesia will display the rich, historical seagoing cultures of local communities, with a seafood feast and cultural performances that connect guests with the soul of these spectacular islands.

  • TREASURE ISLANDS: Papeete, Tahiti, to Auckland – February 7-February 24: Taking guests deep into the South Pacific while sailing between Papeete and Auckland, Silver Dawn will unlock many new destinations for world cruising guests during this highly anticipated segment of the voyage. First-ever calls on a Silversea World Cruise in Tonga’s Nuku’alofa, New Caledonia’s Lifou and Noumea, and Norfolk Island will complement explorations of Aitutaki, Savusavu, Mystery Island, and Bay of Islands in New Zealand. Collaborating closely with the island’s Chief and the local department of tourism, Silversea has curated a special event on Mystery Island in Vanuatu, complete with unprecedented enhancements for the remote destination. Dancers from various islands throughout the region will perform a unique fusion of cultural rituals, while guests dine on fresh catch of the day in a quintessential beach setting, and snorkel in some of the world’s clearest waters, which teem with marine life.

  • NEW WORLD OF THE ANCIENTS: Auckland to Fremantle (Perth) – February 24-March 14: The start of a semi-circumnavigation of Australia, Silver Dawn will depart Auckland on February 24, setting course for Fremantle (Perth). Journeying along Australia’s southern and western coastlines for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, guests will admire some of the world’s clearest night skies, retracing the steps of early explorers who looked to the stars for navigation. This segment will take in the country’s most spectacular landscapes, with numerous opportunities to spot rare wildlife. An overnight call in Hobart (Tasmania) will precede calls in the rarely visited Phillip Island for the chance to see the penguin parade; Penneshaw (Kangaroo Island); Port Lincoln, for the Coffin Bay National Park and the Eyre Peninsula; and Busselton. Visiting Esperance for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, travelers will be able to explore the white-sanded beaches of the Cape Le Grand National Park. Travelers will also discover two of Australia’s most vibrant cities in Melbourne and Adelaide—the latter of which acts as a gateway to the Barossa Valley wine region.

  • THE CALL OF THE WIND: Fremantle (Perth) to Singapore – March 14-March 30: Calls between Fremantle (Perth) and Singapore will include Exmouth, Broome, and Darwin—taking in parts of the ancient Kimberley Coast—as well as Lembar (Lombok). From Exmouth, guests will be able to access the Ningaloo Reef for the chance to swim with whale sharks. In Benoa, Bali, on March 21, the cruise line’s guests will feast on regional cuisine alongside the stunning rice paddies of the luxury five-star resort of Tanah Gajah. Authentic Balinese performances will enrich the occasion, as travelers develop a new appreciation for Southeast Asia’s sacred grain, which migrated around the world thanks to the early seafarers.

  • ROUTES OF SILK & SPICE: Singapore to Mumbai – March 30-April 16: Guests will have the chance to deep dive into South Asia while sailing between Singapore and Mumbai, with extended stays allowing for greater exploration ashore. Overnight calls in Singapore, Cochin, and Mumbai; a late departure in Trincomalee; and calls in Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur), Phuket, Galle, and Colombo will unlock many of Asia’s most iconic destinations in just 17 days, with multiple days at sea offering the chance to relax. On April 12 in Cochin, guests will journey into the city’s backwaters to the town of Alleppey for a bespoke World Cruise event. Following an exhilarating tuk-tuk ride through the urban streets, guests will be greeted with flower garlands for an afternoon of cultural immersion, comprising performances from Kerala drummers, martial artist displays, an authentic Sadhya lunch served on banana leaves, and a cruise down the Kerala River on a traditional houseboat.

  • THE TIDES OF HISTORY: Mumbai to Ashdod (Jerusalem) – April 16-April 30: Departing Mumbai on April 16, Silversea’s guests will head for the famous Suez Canal, taking in the ‘tides of history’ and the storied pasts of Oman, Egypt, and Jordan, before crossing into the Mediterranean. Calls in Salalah, Safaga (Luxor), and Aqaba (Petra) will provide gateways to many of the ancient world’s most iconic sights, including temples, tombs, and colossal statues. An overnight call in Safaga (Luxor) will allow the opportunity to experience Bedouin life in the desert, as well as the Valley of the Kings, the River Nile, and the impressive temples of Luxor. A rite of passage for well-heeled travelers, a Suez Canal transit leads guests to Ashdod (Jerusalem) and an exploration of the Holy Land.

  • MEDITERRANEAN: Ashdod (Jerusalem) to Split – April 30-May 12: Departing Jerusalem and the Holy Land, Silver Dawn will set her course for Split, and the crystal-clear waters and medieval towns of the Adriatic Sea—visited for the first time in many years on a Silversea World Cruise. After a full day in Haifa (Nazareth), guests will journey to Antalya, Turkey, on an overnight call; Rhodes, Greece; Aghios Nikolaos, Crete, for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise; Piraeus (Athens); Nafplion; Sarande, Albania; and Dubrovnik, Croatia, before arriving in Split on May 12.

  • THE ORIGINS OF EXPLORATION: Split to Lisbon – May 12-May 27: An emphatic finale to Silversea’s ‘The Curious and the Sea’ World Cruise 2026, Silver Dawn will sail from Split to Lisbon between May 12 and May 27, unlocking many cultures in the Southern Mediterranean and Northern Africa that have not previously featured on a Silversea World Cruise. For the first time on one of Silversea’s global voyages, guests will explore Hvar, Kotor, Bari, Trapani (Sicily), La Goulette (Tunis), and Cartagena (Spain), as well as discovering Siracusa (Sicily), Malaga, and Cadiz.

THREE IMMERSIVE OVERLAND PROGRAMMES

Facilitating deeper immersion into some of the planet’s richest cultures, Silversea’s guests will have the option of joining three overland tours during the voyage:

  • Uzbekistan – April 16-April 25: Leaving the ship in Mumbai, guests will have the chance to experience the ancient wonders of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan. They will explore the bustling bazaars of Tashkent, an historical commercial hub; Samarkand, with its characterful architecture; and the UNESCO-listed historic centre of Bukhara.

  • Luxor, Egypt – April 26-April 31: From Safaga, Silversea’s guests can follow in the footsteps of ancient navigators, exploring the ancient wonders of Egypt, from the temples of Luxor to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Valley of the Kings, and the Nubian Village on a luxurious Nile cruise.

  • The Balkans – May 11-May 14: Travelers will have the opportunity to journey overland to Belgrade, Serbia’s capital, which has been rebuilt almost 40 times throughout history. Guests will learn about the history of Yugoslavia, visiting the Museum of Yugoslav History, St. Sava Temple, and Novi Sad, the largest town in autonomous Vojvodina.

THE CRUISE DIVISION OF MSC GROUP EXPANDS ITS SHORE POWER PLAN

  • At least 15 new ports earmarked for Cruise Division’s ships to receive shoreside electricity between 2024 and 2026, boosting current commitment

  • MSC cruise ships to utilize shore power facilities at more ports as soon as they become available

Geneva, Switzerland – June 14, 2023 – The Cruise Division of MSC Group unveiled details today surrounding the next phase of its shore power plan. Ships will be able to plug into shoreside electricity grids in at least 15 new ports between 2024 and 2026, furthering progress toward decarbonization and reducing emissions from the company’s fleet of ships while berthed.

The new 2024-2026 shore power plan includes Miami, along with Barcelona and Valencia, Spain; Stavanger and Norfjordied, Norway; Copenhagen, Denmark; Marseille, France; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Valletta, Malta; Stockholm, Sweden; and at least five Italian ports.

The Company intends for all ships belonging to MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys to fully utilize shore power facilities at all other ports they visit once available.

Using shore power removes the need to keep a ship’s engine running and drastically reduces in-port emissions from the vessel.

MSC Cruises’ ships have successfully used shore power at the ports of Southampton, UK and Kristiansand, Norway since February 2023. Later this summer, the company will test the facilities at the Norwegian port of Haugesund. Other European trials are planned this year at Bergen and Alesund in Norway and Warnemunde in Germany.

MSC Cruises will also use shore power in the German ports of Hamburg this winter and Kiel during the summer of 2024.

MSC Cruises signed a memorandum of understanding with Cruise Baltic last year for shore power in the Baltic Sea area. Cruise Baltic has 32 ports and destinations in its region that are committed to increasing the number of shore power facilities available.

Shore power capability has been fitted on all of MSC Cruises’ new ships since 2017. Together with retrofits completed on other vessels, 67 percent of MSC Cruises’ total capacity is equipped with the technology. More ships will be retrofitted as the ports on their respective itineraries make shore power available.

All of Explora Journeys’ ships will include shore power capabilities. EXPLORA I, the first ship in the new brand’s fleet, will enter service on July 17.

Linden Coppell, VP Sustainability & ESG, MSC Cruises, said: “Shore power is an important factor on our journey toward net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) operations. All of our newbuilds since 2017 are equipped with the ability to plug into local power grids and we are rolling out retrofits on the other vessels in our fleet. Our shore power plan actively demonstrates our ambition and that we are fully committed to reduce emissions from our ships, including while in port. We have invested heavily in hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems to substantially reduce local air quality emissions and we now need more ports across Europe and beyond to introduce shore power as quickly as possible. By making major reductions to emissions in ports, we are fulfilling our responsibility to the ports and coastal communities that our ships visit and serve. Together with the use of LNG fuel, improving energy efficiency, utilizing innovative wastewater treatment and waste recycling, we are making positive strides in playing our part to address climate change and protect ocean biodiversity.”

MSC Cruises’ latest flagship, MSC Euribia, features the most energy-efficient cruise ship design ever and performed an industry-first earlier this month when she sailed from France to Denmark and demonstrated the potential to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions on a cruise through the use of renewable bio-LNG.

VIKING’S NEWEST OCEAN SHIP NAMED BY METROPOLITAN OPERA CHAIRMAN ANN ZIFF

The 930-Guest Viking Saturn Was Named in the New York Harbor at Manhattan Cruise Terminal

Los Angeles (June 6, 2023) – Viking® (www.viking.com) today named its newest ocean ship, the Viking Saturn®, with a celebration in New York City. As part of the event, the ship’s ceremonial godmother, Ann Ziff, the esteemed philanthropist and Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera, a longtime Viking cultural partner, offered a blessing of good fortune and safe sailing for the ship—a maritime tradition that dates back thousands of years. The ship will now continue her inaugural season, sailing two new Viking voyages: Iconic Iceland, Greenland & Canada, between New York City and Reykjavik, and Iceland & Norway’s Arctic Explorer, between Reykjavik and Bergen.

“This is a very proud day for Viking as we name our newest identical ocean ship in New York City, one of the great cultural capitals of the world,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking. “It is especially fitting that Ann Ziff, Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera—one of the world’s greatest cultural institutions—has honored us by serving as godmother of the Viking Saturn. We thank Ann for her loyalty as a Viking guest, as well as her many impressive contributions to the arts and other important causes.”

“It is an honor to be godmother of the new Viking Saturn and celebrate this momentous occasion in New York,” said Ann Ziff. “Viking and the Metropolitan Opera share a common goal in creating enriching experiences throughout the world and there is no doubt the Viking Saturn will do just that for her guests.”

In keeping with the naming tradition, during the ceremony Ziff used the steel sword from the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Verdi’s Il Trovatore to cut a ribbon that allowed a bottle of Norwegian aquavit to break on the ship’s hull. The prop sword was originally used by baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky in the role of Count di Luna in David McVicar’s production, which premiered in the 2008-2009 season. Prior to the ribbon cutting, the sword was presented to Ziff by Lady Fiona Carnarvon, the Countess of Carnarvon, who is also the godmother of the Viking Mars® and a Viking Longship, the Viking Skadi.

As part of the ceremony, guests also enjoyed performances from Sissel Kyrkjebø, one of the world’s leading crossover sopranos and godmother of the Viking Jupiter® and Norwegian violinist Tor Jaran Apold. Following a celebratory dinner on board the ship, stars of the Metropolitan Opera—soprano Susanna Phillips, tenor Charles Castronovo, and baritone Quinn Kelsey—treated guests to a performance of opera classics, including selections from Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, Antonín Dvořák’s Rusalka, Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème, as well as a collection of American musical classics from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern and others.

Ann Ziff, Godmother of the Viking Saturn

A dedicated philanthropist focused on the arts, education, culture and environmental conservation, Ann Ziff is Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera and serves on several boards, including the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Sing for Hope, the World Science Festival and the Los Angeles Opera. Passionate about bringing culture and arts into the lives of children in need, she co-founded Smile Train and was a board member at Maloto, an organization that provides education and housing for abused and abandoned girls in Malawi. Ms. Ziff also has an eponymous fine jewelry brand, Tamsen Z, where she designs and creates one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by her love of culture, art and music as well as her travels as a loyal Viking guest.

Viking and the Metropolitan Opera

As one of the world’s foremost cultural institutions and the largest classical music organization in North America, the Metropolitan Opera is home to the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, and artists around the world and has been a Viking cultural partner since 2016. On board Viking’s ocean ships, guests are treated to the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning Live in HD series, including an exclusive viewing of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. As part of Viking’s continued commitment to support enriching, cultural programming, other premier partnerships and sponsorships include Ballet Sun Valley, BBC, Highclere Castle, Los Angeles Philharmonic, PBS’ MASTERPIECE, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Oslo’s Munch Museum, TED and many others.

The Viking Saturn

The Viking Saturn is the newest ship in Viking’s award-winning ocean fleet of identical sister ships, which also includes the Viking Star®, the Viking Sea®, the Viking Sky®, the Viking Orion®, the Viking Jupiter®, the Viking Venus®, the Viking Mars®, and the Viking Neptune®. Classified by Cruise Critic as “small ships,” Viking’s ocean vessels have a gross tonnage of 47,800 tons, with 465 staterooms that can host 930 guests; the ships feature all veranda staterooms, Scandinavian design, light-filled public spaces and abundant al fresco dining options.

The naming of the Viking Saturn comes as the company continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary and its most successful single month of bookings in January 2023, following recent years of strong growth. Since 2020, Viking has welcomed 17 new ships to its fleet—including eight new Viking Longships on the rivers of Europe; new purpose-built vessels on the Mekong, Nile and Mississippi rivers; four new, identical ocean ships; and two Polar Class expedition vessels. Most recently, Viking was voted “Best Cruise Line” by Food & Wine readers in the publication’s inaugural Global Tastemakers Awards. In March 2023, the company dominated Cruise Critic’s Cruisers’ Choice Awards, receiving top honors in six categories including “Best Overall Line,” “Best River Line,” and “Best Dining” for its ocean and expedition voyages. Additionally, Viking has been named both the #1 Ocean Line and #1 River Line by both Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler, making it the first line ever to simultaneously earn #1 in its categories from both publications.

VIKING ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL SAILINGS IN EGYPT

Viking Osiris ON Nile RIVER, Luxor

Strong Demand Leads to Release of Additional 2024 Departure Dates on Viking’s Newest Nile River Ship

Los Angeles (June 1, 2023) – Viking® (www.viking.com) today announced voyages on its newest Nile River ship, theViking Hathor, are now available for booking. Set to debut in 2024, the Viking Hathor will join the company’s growing fleet of purpose-built ships on the Nile River, which sail the popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. Demand in Egypt remains strong, with Viking’s 2023 season sold out and some sailings into 2025 already selling out.

“Egypt continues to be one of our most popular destinations,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking. “As a country rich with history and culture, we are pleased to bring the Viking way of exploration to Egypt for our guests. With the addition of the Viking Aton this summer and the Viking Hathor next summer, we are looking forward to meeting the growing demand in the region.”

The news follows recent accolades for Viking’s river fleet in Egypt. In its first year of sailing, the Viking Hathor’s identical sister ship, the Viking Osiris, was named as one of the “Best New Cruises” in Conde Nast Traveler’s “2023 Hot List.” Additionally, TIME magazine featured both Giza and Saqqara on its “World’s Greatest Places of 2023” list, recommending sailing the Nile River with Viking. TIME notes that Viking is among the very few who stop in both Giza and the village of Saqqara, where excavation sites, like the megatombs of animal and human mummies, are active.

The Viking Hathor & Viking’s Growing Egypt Fleet

Hosting 82 guests in 41 staterooms, the new, state-of-the-art Viking Hathor is inspired by Viking’s award-winning river and ocean ships with the elegant Scandinavian design for which Viking is known. The Viking Hathor is the identical sister ship to the Viking Aton, which debuts in August 2023, and the Viking Osiris, which was named in 2022 by Viking’s first ceremonial godfather, the 8th Earl of Carnarvon. The sister ships feature several aspects familiar to Viking guests, such as a distinctive square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace. In addition to the Viking Aton and the Viking Osiris, the Viking Hathor will join the other ships in the Egypt fleet, the Viking Ra and the MS Antares. In response to strong demand, Viking will have six ships sailing the Nile by 2025 with the addition of a new sister ship, the Viking Sobek, which is also under construction and will be delivered in 2025.

Viking’s Pharaohs & Pyramids Itinerary

During the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, guests begin with a three-night stay at a first-class hotel in Cairo, where they can visit iconic sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza, the necropolis of Saqqara (also known as “Sakkara”) and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Guests then fly to Luxor, where they visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak before boarding a Viking river ship for an eight-day roundtrip cruise on the Nile River, featuring Privileged Access to the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens and the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings, and excursions to the Temple of Khnum in Esna, the Dendera Temple complex in Qena, the temples at Abu Simbel and the High Dam in Aswan, and a visit to a colorful Nubian village, where guests can experience a traditional elementary school. Finally, the journey concludes with a flight back to Cairo for a final night in the ancient city.

For guests looking to extend their journey, Viking also offers Pre and Post Extensions that provide Privileged Access to archives and exhibits. Guests on the five-day British Collections of Ancient Egypt extension will begin the journey in London, where they will meet their Viking Tour Director, an expert Egyptologist, and experience Privileged Access to two museums: first a private, early morning visit to the Egyptian Collection at the British Museum before it opens to the general public – and then a visit to the home and personal museum of world-renowned architect, Sir John Soane, where the tour will be illuminated by candlelight, a re-enactment of how Soane entertained guests and showcased his exquisite collection of Egyptian antiquities, including a 3,000-year-old Egyptian sarcophagus. Guests will also visit London’s Petrie Museum, which houses more than 80,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt and Sudan. In Oxford, guests will visit the Ashmolean Museum, one of the oldest in the world, and home to a varied collection of Egyptian mummies and art—and go behind the scenes at Oxford University’s Griffith Institute, where they will enjoy a Privileged Access visit to see Howard Carter’s archives, which detail the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Lastly, guests will have further Privileged Access with an exclusive visit to Highclere Castle to view the Earl’s magnificent private collection of Egyptian artifacts, as well as archives and exhibits not normally accessible to the public.

Additional offerings include a new three-night Pre-Extension in Istanbul, where guests can visit the timeless city and important religious sites including the “Blue Mosque” and the legendary Hagia Sophia. Before their voyage, guests can also choose to extend their journey in Jerusalem, exploring the ancient history and vibrant culture of Israel’s fascinating capital. After concluding the river voyage, guests can also extend the journey with a 4-night Post-Extension to Jordan – Petra, Dead Sea & Amman to view Roman antiquities at Jerash, Crusader-era castles at Kerak or Shobak and experience the lost city of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

ACCLAIMED LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW HOST AND COMEDIAN JAY LENO NAMED AS ‘GODFATHER’ TO CARNIVAL VENEZIA

For the First Time, Carnival Cruise Line Names a Godfather

MIAMI – June 2, 2023 – Carnival Cruise Line today announced that acclaimed late night talk show host and comedian Jay Leno will serve as its first ever godfather to one of its ships, Carnival Venezia™, at a celebratory event on June 14, 2023 when the ship is blessed and enters service from New York City. The ship is the first to incorporate “Carnival Fun Italian Style” that adds Carnival’s signature fun to the beautiful Italian theming of the vessel. In addition to serving as the Godfather, Leno will perform a special comedy show exclusively for Carnival’s event guests, in partnership with Carnival® World Mastercard®.

“Carnival Venezia originally entered service for our Italian sister brand Costa Cruises and was christened in 2019, so she already has a godmother. With Carnival Venezia joining the fleet and sailing from New York, we wanted to ensure a proper welcome for the ship and decided having a godfather would be both fun and appropriate,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. “And when we thought of someone who would make a FUN godfather with Italian heritage, we knew Jay Leno would be the perfect godfather! And he’s already a member of the Carnival family – he entertained guests a few years ago as part of our Carnival LIVE entertainment series.”

“I am truly honored to be named the godfather of Carnival Venezia. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse,” said Leno. “Carnival’s focus on FUN combined with the Italian theming of this ship is something that is truly unique. I’m also excited to have my very own cruise ship, although I think I’ll need a bigger garage!”

A native of New Rochelle, NY, Leno is the grandson of immigrants from Flumeri, Campania, Italy. He began his entertainment career in stand-up comedy, which led to the nearly two-decades-long role he is best known for as host of The Tonight Show, from which he retired in 2014.  During most of his tenure, Leno’s The Tonight Show was the top-ranked talk show on late night, and he earned the reputation as being “the hardest working man in show business.”

Leno currently produces and is host of the CNBC primetime series Jay Leno’s Garage that is now in its seventh season and explores the world of cars, never forgetting that it’s the people behind the wheel who provide the real stories.  The series debuted in October 2015 and delivered CNBC’s most-watched first season in network history.  He remains in demand as a stand-up performer, corporate speaker and the host of the game show reboot, You Bet Your Life.

Carnival Venezia celebrates Venice, Italy, and has many spaces on board that are reminiscent of her namesake. When guests enter the ship, they arrive in the Venice-inspired atrium Piazza San Marco, the onboard flavor and flair continues at restaurants like the elegant Marco Polo and Canal Grande Restaurants, along with the new Italian specialty restaurant, “Il Viaggio.” Carnival Playlist Productions shows entertain guests at the Teatro Rosso theater that is reminiscent of Italian opera houses.

Guests will also find many Carnival mainstays they know and love on board, including Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Burger Joint, the steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki and the Chef’s Table, along with Lido Marketplace, Seafood Shack and Pizzeria del Capitano, Piano Bar 88 and Heroes Tribute Lounge.

Carnival Venezia is set to arrive to her new home in New York City and begin sailing from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on June 15, 2023. The ship accommodates more than 5,000 guests and will offer 10 different cruise durations and 22 unique itineraries featuring visits to 25 ports across 14 countries.

A-ROSA adds e-bikes on A-ROSA SENA

Plus, complimentary e-bike hire now available on A-ROSA fleet

Rostock, 31 May 2023 – A-ROSA has introduced e-bikes on A-ROSA SENA for the first time, including two bikes for teenagers. The move means that e-bikes are now available across 12 ships in its fleet, covering the Danube, Rhine, Main, Moselle, Seine and Rhone/Saone.

In addition, A-ROSA has also introduced complimentary e-bike hire this year. This means that in selected ports guests now have the options to take an e-bike out for a spin independently, create their own route and explore a city or town on two wheels as they wish.

Perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels, each e-bike is fitted with a compact electric motor. Riders can pick which level of assistance they require whilst riding, from various different options. It is also possible to switch the motor off altogether, for those who want a harder workout.

A helmet and bike lock are provided with each hire and there is no charge as it is included within A-ROSA’s Premium All-Inclusive package.

A-ROSA also continues to offer an extensive programme of guided bike tours for those who prefer to be led by an expert, with over 50 different options available across the entire 2023 season.

Jennifer Böckmann, Shore Excursion Manager at A-ROSA, comments: “Having e-bikes on-board A-ROSA SENA is brilliant news and it’s great that we even have two for teenagers as this our flagship multi-generational vessel.”

“As always with A-ROSA, flexibility is key, and guests now have a choice to join a guided excursion or take an e-bike out independently at dedicated times when organised group cycling tours are not taking place. The rivers of Europe are just made for exploring this way and of course, it is a more sustainable option which fits in perfectly with our continued focus on protecting the rivers and destinations we sail through”, she adds.
