CELEBRITY CRUISES DEBUTS THEMED WINDOW DISPLAYS AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

Celebrity Cruises debuted two themed windows as part of luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue’s famed holiday display that draws millions of visitors every year

Brand Celebrates the Upcoming Launch of Newest Ship Celebrity Beyond with Two Window Displays Including Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud,  Highlighting the Acclaimed Chef’s First Restaurant at Sea Coming in 2022

Exclusive Partnership Also Includes Spring 2022 Fashion Photo Shoot and Digital Marketing

MIAMI (Nov.  24, 2021) – Feeding the travel wanderlust of holiday shoppers, Celebrity Cruises debuted two themed windows as part of luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue’s famed holiday display that draws millions of visitors each and every year.

The windows bring to life two of Celebrity’s most talked about onboard venues – Eden, available on the brand’s Edge® Series ships, and Le Voyage by Chef Daniel Boulud, debuting on Celebrity Beyond next year. The Eden window is inspired by the transformative environment of this iconic space along with the dramatic and magical performances that take place here. The Le Voyage window is inspired by the inviting warm glow, and intimate and upscale feel of Boulud’s first restaurant at sea.

On board Celebrity, the iconic Eden is an innovative experience unlike anything at sea – or even on land. A creative combination of culinary and entertainment offerings, guests discover an array of activities that evolve with the day, from chillful mornings to playful afternoons to wonderful evenings. Eden transforms throughout each sailing, offering food and events designed to awaken a sense of wonder in unique and exciting ways.

World-renowned chef Daniel Boulud, Celebrity’s Global Culinary Ambassador, has created his first signature restaurant at sea—Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud. As the name implies, travel is the inspiration in this intimate and upscale venue for Chef Daniel’s innovative dishes. From the moment guests step inside Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud, the experience is so much more than a meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is the result of Jouin Manku’s creative talents—the duo architect-designers, Sanjit Manku and Patrick Jouin responsible for the bars and restaurants of La Mamounia Marrakech as well as Celebrity’s own extraordinary Grand Plaza available on all Edge® Series ships. The globally inspired flavors Boulud has infused into the menu will transport guests to the very places that inspired their creations.

World-renowned chef Daniel Boulud stands in front of Saks Fifth Avenue’s famed holiday window display, highlighting his first signature restaurant at sea—Le Voyage, set to debut on Celebrity Beyond in 2022

Celebrity’s exclusive partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue officially launched earlier this year with a variety of digital touch points, including a dedicated landing page on Saks.com. In addition to the holiday window displays, there will also be a fashion photo shoot on board Celebrity Apex for inclusion in Saks’ Spring 2022 digital and social media campaigns.

Celebrity Beyond is the third ship in our award-winning Edge Series which disrupted the cruise industry, and we wanted to celebrate her by doing something unique,” said Michael Scheiner, chief marketing officer of Celebrity Cruises. “The partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue is the first-of-its-kind for the cruise industry and very special to Celebrity. It’s an exciting and important way for us to show up in unique ways in locations our guests are visiting. This will be one of many firsts in the upcoming year for the brand.”

The holiday windows are on display now and will run through January 1, 2022.

Swan Hellenic confirms christening of SH Minerva today

Nicosia, Cyprus: Today, Tuesday the 23rd of November 2021, Swan Hellenic announced the christening of its new ship SH Minerva at the Helsinki Shipyard during a small private ceremony this afternoon with godmother Johanna Mäkelä, Finland’s first professor of food culture and wife of Helsinki City Mayor Juhana Vartiainen. Mayor Vartiainen was also present, along with Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito and Helsinki Shipyard CEO Carl-Gustaf Rotkirch with top management.

The celebration follows global supply chain disruptions and recent spikes in COVID-19 cases in Finland, which caused Swan Hellenic to take the difficult decision to delay the start of Minerva’s inaugural season, preferring to cancel its first two cruises rather than risk in any way compromising the highest standards of quality and safety.

SH Minerva is scheduled to depart the shipyard early next week.

At the christening, Helsinki Shipyard Project Manager Jonas Packalén commented: “We are glad to see this day finally, following the many global challenges that made our task far from easy. Our special thanks to everyone involved in the project for their unstinting dedication and superb work!”

Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito added: “I, too, would like to congratulate everyone at Helsinki for their impeccable work in difficult circumstance and the tight safety measures which have kept SH Minerva a safe environment at all times. The vessel has been completed after only 26 month from the signing of the contract  which is a remarkable achievement. We now very much look forward to taking our guests to see what others don’t, exploring in exceptional comfort and style.”

Andrea Zito, CEO Swan Hellenic & Johanna Mäkelä, Godmother to SH Minerva

About Swan Hellenic

Swan Hellenic was relaunched in July 2020 to proudly continue the spirit of cultural expedition cruising the company pioneered in the 1950s. Building on its British roots, the new company has a global cultural cruising outlook dedicated to providing guests with the opportunity to ‘see what others don’t’.

SH Minerva and SH Vega, two new 5-star polar PC 5 ice-class expedition cruise ships arriving in November 2021 and April 2022, will each accommodate 152 guests in 76 spacious suites and staterooms, the majority with large balconies. A larger PC 6 ice-class vessel accommodating 192 guests in the same distinctive comfort and style in 96 staterooms and suites will be arriving year-end 2022. All three new ships feature 3 dining venues, the Swan Restaurant, Club Lounge and Pool bar & Grill, and are being built in full compliance with SOLAS Safe Return to Port requirements. Dedicated to guests with a passion for adventure and cultural exploration, the company’s meticulously planned itineraries explore the wild landscapes, wildlife, peoples and unique cultures of the world’s less travelled regions.

Swan Hellenic's ships feature elegant Scandi-design interiors, extensive outdoor spaces and dedicated expedition facilities. The crew includes an expedition team comprising expert guides, speakers and lecturers, and - numbering 120 and 140 respectively - almost equals the number of guests, reflecting the high levels of attentive personal service provided.

Headquartered in Cyprus with offices in London, Dusseldorf, Monaco, Fort Lauderdale (serving the North America market) and Hong Kong (serving mainland China, Taiwan, Vietnam and South-East Asia), as well as partnerships serving India, Japan and Australia-New Zealand, Scandinavia and Iceland, Swan Hellenic supports the travel trade with specialist local partners to provide customers with expert personal service worldwide.

MSC CRUISES AND FINCANTIERI MARK FLOAT OUT OF THE LINE’S NEXT FLAGSHIP MSC SEASCAPE

MSC Seascape today floated out at the shipyard in Italy as sister ship MSC Seashore’s simultaneous naming ceremony takes place at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas

MSC Seascape is one of three MSC Cruises ships currently under construction, two of which will be delivered in 2022 following the two that came into service in 2021

Trieste, Italy – November 18, 2021 – MSC Cruises today celebrated the float out of its next flagship, MSC Seascape,at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, a traditional event as the ship owner and shipbuilder of a new vessel come together to witness a ship touch water for the first time.

MSC Seascape will be delivered in November 2022, the second Seaside EVO class ship to enter the MSC Cruises’ fleet, and the fourth vessel in the line’s highly innovative Seaside class.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises, said, “The float out of MSC Seascape marks yet another significant milestone in the growth of our fleet and the vessel will pay homage to the oceans through yet another host of highly innovative maritime and design features."

“We have continued with our ambitious new build plans, in spite of the pandemic, and today is a double celebration for MSC as our next flagship MSC Seascape is floated out into water simultaneously as her sister ship MSC Seashore is officially named at our very own private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve."

“MSC Seascape - together with MSC Seashore - features some of the latest environmental technologies and solutions to minimize her impact on the environment which will help us take a further step forward towards realizing our ambition of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.”

Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri added, “Such an imposing ship makes it even more suggestive to reflect on the enormous work behind her construction. We began the work on MSC Seascape almost concurrently with the onset of the emergency and today, together with an established operator like MSC, we celebrate her float out in line with pre-pandemic plans. The great determination in respecting production commitments and preserving the entire orderbook has become the hallmark of our Group, an authentic cornerstone of the culture of the company, and there could not be a better precondition for looking to the future with renewed confidence.”

The GT 169,400 MSC Seascape will be able to accommodate up to 5,877 guests with approximately 140,000 square feet of outdoor space.

MSC Seascape’s sister ship, MSC Seashore, is officially named today at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas, the first naming ceremony for a cruise ship to be held at a private island anywhere in the world. The ship’s naming ceremony also marks the formal inauguration of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, which opened in late 2019 and closed temporarily due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

MSC Seascape Details:

Future-proof environmental technology:

MSC Seascape’s environmental technologies will include selective catalytic reduction systems on each of her four Wärtsilä 14V 46F engines to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 percent by converting the gas into harmless nitrogen and water, plus hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems to remove 98 percent of sulphur oxide from ship emissions.

The vessel is fitted with best-in-class wastewater treatment systems with purification standards that are higher than most wastewater treatment facilities on land, advanced waste management systems, ballast water treatment systems approved by the United States Coast Guard, the latest-technology systems for the prevention of oil discharges from machinery spaces and various effective energy-efficiency improvements – from heat recovery systems to LED lighting able to save energy.

The ship will also feature an underwater radiated noise management system to reduce and isolate the potential effects on marine mammals.

Designed to connect guests with the sea:

MSC Seascape, as with her sister ship MSC Seashore, will see nearly 70 percent of her public spaces completely redesigned in the Seaside class to enhance the guest experience with an aim to offer beautiful venues and locations to connect with the sea:
