Freedom of the Seas Kicks off an Adventure-packed Summer of Family Vacations with Fourth of July Weekend Cruise from Miami

MIAMI, July 3, 2021 – It’s official, Royal Caribbean International is back in the U.S. and delivering the long overdue cruise vacations that families and travelers of all ages have missed. A nearly 16-month journey led up to the moment yesterday when Freedom of the Seas became the first Royal Caribbean ship in the U.S. to welcome guests and the first cruise ship to do so from PortMiami, the cruise capital of the world. Sailing with 93% of the onboard community fully vaccinated and just in time for Fourth of July weekend, Freedom set off on the first cruise of a summer-long series of 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaways to Perfect Day at CocoCay – the cruise line’s top-rated private island destination – and Nassau, The Bahamas.

“We have a lot to celebrate. Families and loved ones can finally come together after more than a year apart, and we’re now welcoming them back on board to make up for that lost time,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “For a moment as meaningful as Fourth of July weekend, it couldn’t be more appropriate that Freedom of the Seas be the first ship to ring in our return to cruising in the U.S. and delivering the memorable and safe vacations Royal Caribbean is known for. Summer family vacations are back, and we are just getting started.”

Marking the most celebratory Fourth of July weekend yet, the eagerly awaited comeback of the world’s largest cruise line has only just begun. Royal Caribbean is planning for nine more award-winning ships to return through August, including Anthem of the Seas in the U.K., Serenade and Ovation of the Seas in Alaskaand the brand-new Odyssey of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In the coming weeks, the cruise line will announce plans to reintroduce its full fleet around the globe by year’s end. The complete 2021 lineup to date is available here.

Showcasing its $116 million transformation from March 2020, Freedom has a lineup of new features and amenities in store for guests of all ages, including The Perfect Storm duo of high-speed waterslides, a vibrant, resort-style Caribbean poolscape; the cruise line’s first Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen and new, dedicated spaces for kids and teens. The amplified ship offers an all-around tropical escape from ship to shore, sailing to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, The Bahamas. At Royal Caribbean’s game-changing private island destination, there are next-level thrills and ways to chill, from the tallest waterslide in North America to the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, Oasis Lagoon; to the first floating cabanas in The Bahamas at Coco Beach Club. Between the decked-out experience on board and island hopping from one tropical destination to the next, Freedom’s 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday summer cruises from Miami are the perfect short getaways for families to maximize every moment of their precious vacation time.

Health and Safety Measures for Freedom of the Seas

Vacationers sailing on Freedom can cruise with peace of mind, knowing Royal Caribbean has ensured that all crew members on board are fully vaccinated and additional layers of health and safety measures are in place for their well-being. A full list of protocols for Freedom’s July cruises are available here, which includes the cruise line’s vaccination policies.

Specific to Royal Caribbean cruises departing from Florida, it is strongly recommended that guests 16 years of age and older (age 12 and older for sailings departing on or after Aug. 1) be fully vaccinated. Vacationers eligible but unvaccinated or unable to show proof of vaccination are required to undergo testing, follow additional health protocols and obtain travel insurance that covers medical and other costs related to COVID-19 at their own expense. Children ineligible for vaccines will be subject to complimentary testing and other protocols. The vaccine policy is one of the multiple measures, including the robust onboard ventilation system and enhanced cleaning and sanitization, that safeguard the health and safety of all guests, crew members and the communities at each port of call.

Made possible in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local authorities, Freedom is the cruise industry’s first ship to have successfully completed a simulated sailing and receive a Conditional Sailing Certificate from the CDC. The certificate confirms the health and safety measures that Royal Caribbean has in place fulfill the CDC’s guidance and requirements.

Crystal River Cruises Announces Complete 2021 Deployment

Voyages highlight perennially popular Rhine and Danube River itineraries with overnights in Vienna, Budapest, Amsterdam and more

MIAMI, July 2, 2021 – Crystal River Cruises, the World’s Most Luxurious River Cruise Line, has announced its final deployment for 2021, featuring 35 voyages ranging from seven to 11 nights and exploring the historic cities, cultural treasures and UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Rhine, Danube and Moselle rivers. Sister ships Crystal Ravel and Crystal Debussy are set to return to Europe’s famed waterways on August 29 and August 30, respectively, with a focus on the line’s most popular and destination-rich seven-night Rhine and Danube itineraries, as well as voyages showcasing the fairytale beauty of the Mosel Wine Region. Every 2021 river voyage is highlighted by at least two overnight stays, with many voyages offering three overnights, allowing guests to further immerse themselves in the ports’ charm and history, or venture to nearby towns for broader experiences.

Plans are well underway to resume river cruising in August thanks to recent positive news from the European Union allowing entry for vaccinated passengers with all countries on Crystal River Cruises’ itineraries now open for river cruising.

“We are looking forward with great excitement and anticipation to welcoming our guests back aboard our all-suite, all-butler serviced river ships to share the stunning cultural sights and natural beauty of Europe’s most treasured river destinations,” said Walter Littlejohn, Crystal River Cruises’ senior vice president and managing director. “While our Christmas Market voyages are completely sold out there is still availability for select voyages, which we know will be welcome news for guests who have been postponing their plans waiting for travel restrictions to ease.

“There is a pent-up desire to cruise to iconic cities such as Amsterdam and Budapest and epicenters of art and music such as Vienna and Salzburg paired with the dramatic landscapes and natural beauty of the Wachau Valley and Middle Rhine Valley. Guests will enjoy these voyages on the most innovative and luxurious river ships in the industry with the warm and genuine service that Crystal is known featuring the highest staff-to-guest ratio among all European river lines,” Littlejohn added.

Crystal River Cruises is doing a gradual return of service by consolidating sailings from Crystal Bach and Crystal Mahler on similar voyages onboard their identical sister ships, Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel, as part of the final 2021 deployment.

In preparation for the resumption of service, Crystal River Cruises’ devoted crew are prepping the vessels, will complete a refresher training program as well as implement new Crystal Clean+ protocols that address the unique challenges of COVID-19. New measures include mandatory vaccination for guests and crew; COVID-19 testing at embarkation; HEPA filters; and more.  Because of the mandatory vaccination requirement, guests will be able to explore ashore independently. As a reminder, Crystal Clean+ protocols are under continual review based on scientific data and evolving recommendations from local and global authorities.

On Crystal River Cruises’ itineraries, timeless medieval towns mix beautifully with modern hubs of culture and commerce. Guests can explore Melk’s Benedictine Abbey, Vienna’s famed Ringstrasse, and the windmills of Amsterdam, and cruise through a UNESCO World Heritage site of terraced vineyards and castle towns in the lovely Wachau Valley. On every voyage, the Crystal River Collection features inclusive, curated experiences ashore that will enhance the journey for guests with options that cater to a variety of interests including a Complimentary Signature Event at the Belvedere Palace in Vienna for select Crystal Ravel sailings.

Highly Anticipated Ship Set to Debut from Port Canaveral July 31

MIAMI, June 29, 2021 – Carnival Cruise Line’s new Mardi Gras will feature the widest variety of culinary outlets in the fleet, with more than two dozen different venues, including Chibang!, a new two-in-one dining concept featuring both Chinese and Mexican dishes.

Responding to guests’ feedback for more diverse dining choices on board, particularly Chinese and Mexican cuisine, Chibang! is part of an expanded list of dining options created just for Mardi Gras.

For a limited time only, Chibang! as well as popular options Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse and Cucina del Capitano – all of which normally carry a dinner-time reservations fee or a la carte pricing – will be included in the price of the cruise, in addition to the Palm and Flamingo dining rooms and the Lido buffet.

“Mardi Gras is truly a game-changing ship and that, of course, includes her amazing dining options which offer our guests a broad spectrum of cuisines from around the world,” said Cyrus Marfatia, Carnival’s vice president of culinary and dining.  “Mardi Gras is such an incredible ship that we wanted to offer guests a limited time opportunity to enjoy some of her new and most popular specialty restaurants at no charge,” he added.

Chibang! is named after the Mandarin word for wing and features two distinctly separate menus, each offering a diverse selection of authentic Chinese and Mexican cuisines allowing guests to craft their perfect meals.

Floor to ceiling windows that run the length of the restaurant provide magnificent sea views while a colorful dragon greets diners as they enter the restaurant.

The beverage selection will be just as varied with selections including the Chibang! Margarita made with blood orange syrup, the Smokey Mezcal Negroni that’s a twist on the Italian classic and a Green Tea Martini made with Shochu.

Chibang!, Cucina del Capitano and Smokehouse Brewhouse will also offer  complimentary breakfast and lunch menus, as well.

The first North American cruise ship powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Mardi Gras is set to debut from Port Canaveral, Fla., July 31, 2021, operating week-long itineraries from the Space Coast.

Tauck Announces Resumption of Global Operations

RiverEurope_MediaImages_Andorinha---exterior.jpg

All European River Cruises, Italy Land Tours and More to Resume in August and September

WILTON, CT (June 29, 2021) After announcing the restart of select tours and cruises in recent weeks, Tauck revealed today that it plans to resume full operations of all remaining 2021 itineraries during August and September. Today’s announcement includes the return of Tauck’s Danube and Rhine river cruises, its land tours in Italy and elsewhere across Europe, and its explorations of far-flung destinations ranging from Morocco to Machu Picchu. In all, Tauck expects to operate more than 80% of its pre-pandemic portfolio of tours and cruises this year, with a full return of all itineraries slated for 2022.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce the global restart of our 2021 journeys,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar. “If a destination is welcoming American travelers, and if it’s a place where Tauck operates, we’ll be bringing our guests there in the coming months.

Mahar went on to put today’s announcement in perspective. “The challenges of the past 15 months have been unprecedented in our 96-year history,” he noted, “but the loyalty of our guests and travel advisors, the skill, dedication and hard work of our employees, and our bedrock philosophy to always ‘do the right thing’ have brought us to this day. We’re humbled and grateful, and we’re incredibly excited to move forward.”

Tauck has begun operating an increasing number of tour and cruise departures in the U.S. and elsewhere over the past weeks. Earlier this month the company announced the August resumption of a few select land tours and cruises in Europe, its cruises in the Galapagos Islands and its guided safaris in eastern and southern Africa. However, and even with the resumption of those itineraries, Tauck had yet to confirm restart plans for the bulk of its 2021 itineraries prior to today’s announcement.

Newly added to Tauck’s restart plans for August are several itineraries in Italy (one of Tauck’s most popular destinations), land tours in Switzerland, the company’s popular “A Week in… Ireland” tour, and its exploration of Jordan and Egypt. Tauck will also resume operations on the Rhine with its August 25th departure of “The Romantic Rhine” river cruise. The balance of Tauck’s 2021 tours and cruises, including the company’s popular river cruises on the Danubeand its other journeys on the Rhine, will begin operating in September.

OPTIMISM, CAUTION AND WHERE TO LEARN MORE

Although excited by today’s announcement, Mahar also sounded a note of caution. “To date the world’s return to travel has gone very, very well, and we have great cause for optimism,” said Mahar. “However, some restrictions remain in place for destinations like the UK and Canada, and we know that as our industry recovers, there will be twists and turns along the way. We’re as prepared as possible, but we know that the best attitude is to expect the unexpected and to stay flexible.”

For the most up-to-date listing and availability of Tauck trips, Mahar urges travelers and travel advisors to visit the company’s website. “Restarting operations across the globe isn’t as simple as flipping a switch, of course,” Mahar explained. “Visiting the Open for Travel and Travel Updates pages at Tauck.com continues to be the best way for our guests and travel advisors to stay fully informed on where we’ll be traveling in 2021, and the travel requirements in place for those specific tours and cruises.”

About Tauck: Founded in 1925, Tauck is a world leader in upscale guided travel, with more than 150 land tours, safaris, river cruises and small ship ocean cruises to 70+ countries and all seven continents.
