MSC Seashore
Geneva, Switzerland (February 18, 2021) — With just six months to go until MSC Seashore comes into service this August in the Mediterranean, – and nine months until her arrival in the U.S., – MSC Cruises revealed today new details of what will undoubtedly be one of the line’s most innovative next-generation ships yet. Building on the game-changing and pioneering design of the Seaside class of ships, aimed at bringing guests closer to the sea, MSC Seashore, the first Seaside EVO ship, has been extended and enhanced with a variety of brand-new features, spaces and experiences for guests. This class of ship, renowned for its glamorous design features, is designed to be lived and enjoyed outside and MSC Seashore takes this to a whole new level.
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises commented, “With each new ship we build, MSC Cruises continues to innovate and push design boundaries. MSC Seashore represents an evolution of the Seaside class as an extended and further enriched ship. 65% of the public areas have been reimagined to create something truly unique for our guests. The new aft design has allowed us to introduce a brand-new lounge, Cabaret Rouge, spanning two decks with panoramic views of the sea, offering new entertainment experiences. The specialty restaurant experience has been completely redesigned with the Chef’s Court on deck 8, making this a go-to destination for bars and restaurants. Each of the pools have been enhanced including an impressive double-deck extended magrodome pool and an incredible Infinity pool at the aft.”
Pierfrancesco Vago continued, “We continue to innovate not only in terms of our design and guest experience but also with our use of cutting-edge technology. MSC Seashore will be the first cruise ship in the world to feature a new air sanitation system developed by Fincantieri. ‘Safe Air’, uses UV-C lamp technology eliminating 99% of viruses and bacteria to guarantee clean and safe air for guests and crew. As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment and our journey towards total decarbonization, MSC Seashore will also be equipped with the latest-generation environmental technology with improvements to energy efficiency, the latest systems to reduce air emissions, as well as an advanced waste water treatment system with purification standards that are higher than most wastewater treatment facilities ashore.”
Some of the key highlights of MSC Cruises’ newest flagship include:
13,000 sqm (≈139,930 sq. ft.) of outdoor space with a wide choice of outdoor bars and dining, pools and deck area for relaxing and sunbathing
Six stunning swimming pools with enlarged poolside areas including a spectacular new Infinity Pool and two new Infinity Whirlpools
An expansive 540 meter-long (≈1,772 ft.-long) waterfront promenade close to the water, ideal for grabbing a drink and al fresco dining or simply taking a stroll to enjoy the fresh sea air
The largest and most luxurious MSC Yacht Club spanning 3,000 sqm (≈32,292 sq. ft.) over four decks with two palatial new Owners Suites
11 different types of staterooms and suites with balconies, including the coveted aft suites, 50 terraced suites with extended balconies offering up to 15 sqm (≈161 sq. ft.) of private terrace and 32 different suites with outdoor private whirlpools
“As the world’s third largest cruise brand, MSC Cruises continues to expand in the U.S., bringing its newest, most innovative ships to the market – as we’re doing with MSC Seashore, arriving to Miami exactly 9 months from today,” said Rubén Rodríguez, president of MSC Cruises USA. “This new ship is the first of its kind — an enhanced and enlarged version of the extremely popular MSC Seaside — and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce our U.S. guests to this new cruising experience. Featuring generous outdoor spaces, new and redesigned venues and our largest MSC Yacht Club to date, MSC Seashore is already driving significant demand. And, we expect to see even more pick up in the coming weeks as even more guests start to plan their 2021 holiday and 2022 vacations."
Celebrating the Outdoors with New Design Features
MSC Seashore, offers a range of stand-out design features to connect guests with the sea. At 339 metres (≈1,112 ft.), the Company’s new flagship will become the longest ship in the fleet and will be the largest ship ever to be built in Italy by Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and leaders in cruise ship design and construction.
Stand-out design features include the spectacular glass-floored Bridge of Sighs located at the unique vantage point on deck 16 – 72 ft. above the Infinity Pool on deck 8, stunning panoramic aft elevators and stylish glass-floor catwalks on both sides of the ship on the waterfront promenade.
MSC Seashore Aft Infinity Pool
Ultimate Poolside Relaxation
The pool experience on MSC Seashore has been taken to a whole new level with enhancements and new features for all six pools offering everything from thrills and adventure for younger guests through to stylish poolside relaxation for those looking to unwind on board.
The stunning aft pool has been redesigned to create an Infinity Pool, which now extends right up to the very end of the aft, with a glass wall offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. This pool is one of the largest infinity pools at sea, offering a variety of different depths as well as sunbeds sunken in the water. As the pool is close to the water at deck 8, this is the perfect spot to connect with the sea and take in spectacular views from sunrise to sunset.
Infinity Whirlpool
MSC Seashore introduces two new infinity whirlpools— one on each side of the outdoor promenade of Deck 8 — with 20 sea-facing seats so guests can treat themselves to the ultimate relaxation spot while enjoying striking sea views.
On Deck 18, the main pool — Long Island Pool — offers two different depths so that guests can choose to swim or simply stand and hang-out in the water. The newly designed area also includes a 360-degree water fountain island in the center as well as a new lounge space within the pool. In order to enhance this part of the ship further, the Long Island Pool is now connected with the aquapark with a Pirate Cove theme to create an extensive water area. The kids’ clubs are also located on deck 18, making this the go-to deck for the whole family.
While this ship is designed for warmer weather, the Jungle Pool features a larger magrodome that can be closed to create an indoor pool area when needed. This popular area has been enlarged and now includes an additional deck over and around the space, providing new areas for guests to sit and relax. It is then just a convenient short walk to the newly located buffet on deck 16 for a lunchtime snack — perfect for families who enjoy spending time by the pool.
Butcher’s Cut Al Fresco Dining Area
Dining and Drinking Al Fresco
As part of the vision to enable guests to enjoy the outdoors and bring them closer to the sea, the ship offers a wide array of outdoor bar and cafe areas, with some new brand-new areas.
MSC Seashore introduces a new location for the Chef’s Court that houses the five specialty restaurants, which will be moved to Deck 8. This new positioning of the specialty restaurants allows for the restaurants to have an improved sea view and MSC Cruises’ signature steakhouse, Butcher's Cut, will offer for the first-time outdoor seating and al fresco dining on the iconic waterfront promenade.
MSC Seashore’s expansive buffet now includes a new outdoor aft dining area as well as bar — the Sky Bar — which enables guests to enjoy their food outdoors or in the evening relax and unwind at the top of the ship taking in the sea air.
Aurea guests can enjoy the exclusive Top 19 Solarium with its chic outdoor lounge area and bar.
The Largest, Most Luxurious MSC Yacht Club
Located on the coveted foredecks on the ships, spanning four decks and providing sweeping sea views, the MSC Yacht Club on MSC Seashore will become the largest and most luxurious in MSC Cruises’ fleet, with almost 3,000 sqm (≈32,292 sq. ft.) of space.
Guests looking for a premium, all-inclusive cruise experience with private amenities and 24-hour butler service — while still enjoying the recreation and entertainment that the rest of the ship offers — can choose to sail in the MSC Yacht Club, MSC Cruises’ exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept.
One of the elements that distinguishes an MSC Cruises ship is the elegant and stylish interior design, which can be seen in the Yacht Club’s newly redesigned concierge area. The entrance to the MSC Yacht Club is even more impressive and glamorous, with a three-deck 495 sq. ft. back-lit Onyx wall and MSC Cruises’ signature sparkling Swarovski staircases, connecting four decks and making guests feel like a true VIP when they enter.
Guests can relax in the elegant Top Sail Lounge and dine in the private gourmet restaurant with beautiful sea views with an outdoor area connected to the lounge, on top of the bridge.
An enhanced and extended pool area and sundeck offers 2,000 sqm (≈21,528 sq. ft.) of space, featuring a larger private pool and a new panoramic whirlpool, with eight seats and individual jets, plus a standard whirlpool.
MSC Yacht Club Owner’s Suite Living Arrea
Deluxe accommodations in the MSC Yacht Club have also been increased, now featuring 131 elegant suites across five categories, including the traditional interior, deluxe and royal suites as well as 41 newly introduced deluxe grand suites, with extra space and a walk-in closet, and two brand new Owner’s Suites. The coveted Owner’s Suites are the height of sophistication and the largest suites on the ship, offering 98 sqm (≈1,055 sq. ft.) of space and featuring an expansive private balcony with whirlpool and outdoor living area, panoramic glass wall for stunning sea views, and a separate dining and living room area.

Africa Experiences Celebrating Black Heritage
Africa is famous for its wildlife, yet the continent’s people are as equally fascinating. There are over 2,000 languages spoken and a myriad of cultures, including some of the world’s oldest, that call this beautiful continent home. To explore the diversity of Africa’s culture and heritage is one of the most rewarding experiences.
We are sharing a video of incredible cultural experiences in Africa, narrated by African Travel, Inc.’s president, Sherwin Banda.
Below are different ways guests on safari can learn how art, nature and culture has helped shape Africa’s black heritage and how each guest can celebrate it in the future:
Inspiring Change in Kenya:
Kenya is a magical mix where both the modern and ancient exist. It is also a place where many family roles have evolved, and people have learned to adapt to changes in modern society. You’ll hear these stories in conversations with your Masai or Samburu guides while on your safari plus enjoy the following experiences.
See first-hand the progress taken to promote education and wildlife conservation at the Lewa conservancy. The local Samburu are learning to live in harmony with wildlife by eliminating poaching, which was once a normality for their pastoral lifestyle to protect their grazing herds.
Your stay at the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy provides the opportunity to explore Kenya’s first elephant orphanage, the Reteti Elephant Sanctuaryand learn about the awe-inspiring women of Kenya. Here you can meet some of the Samburu women who proved they are great at taking care of elephants, but also are a living example of how gender equality in the workplace empowers not just women in her community but in her country and the continent.
South Africa’s Voices:
A historic figure for equality and peace, Nelson Mandela paved the way for human rights in South Africa and is one of the most respected black leaders in modern history. We can arrange to meet Christo Brand who can share his experience as friend and guard during Mandela’s infamous 27-year prison stay at Robben Island. Or you can visit the island to see how Nelson Mandela’s South Africa is brought to life in Cape Town and Johannesburg through a collection of soulful encounters with the people and places he touched in his efforts to end apartheid.
Hear about the fascinating history of South Africa through its artists while exploring the Ellerman House collection and spend some time with artists at Ardmore who create colorful home decor, lively paintings, beautiful jewelry and delicate ceramics that demonstrate Zulu traditions.
Namibia’s Wild Existence
Namibia is also home to the statuesque Himba people who are one of the last true nomadic tribes on earth. On safari, learn about their fascinating way of life. While based at Hoanib Valley Camp, you can visit one of the remote villages and learn why they live in cone-shaped homes, why Himba womenfamously rub their bodies with a red ochre cream to protect their skins, and how the Himba are able to continue their traditions today.
Rwanda’s Symbol of Hope:
For a country that was in turmoil just 25 years ago, today a united Rwanda stands as an extraordinary example of the best of humanity. A guided tourof Kigali Genocide Memorial gives a deeper insight into Rwanda’s darker history. The museum uncovers the history of the divisive colonial experience in Rwanda and background of the horrific genocide against the Tutsi tribe in 1994, which spanned 100 days.
We recommend a few days in Kigali, perhaps staying at The Retreat, which showcases Rwandan arts, photography and more. Meet local artisans at the Inema Art Centre and revel in colorful dance and musical performances
With the help of an interpreter, you can visit the Nyamirambo Women’s Center and work with a local weaver who educates you on importance of the craft, where the vibrant colors come from, and helps you make your own earrings or small Agaseke baskets.

Cyprus, 11 February 2021, Swan Hellenic today announced the keel laying of SH Vega, the second of three purpose-designed ice-class expedition cruise ships that Helsinki Shipyard is building for the iconic cultural expedition cruise pioneer.

The ceremony included the customary placement of coins, with Helsinki Shipyard Project Manager Jonas Packalén, Lloyd´s Register representative Jukka Hujanen and Helsinki Shipyard Chairman Victor Olerskiy doing the honours.
Named after the first vessel to navigate the Arctic Northeast Passage, the elegant new ship represents the next generation of polar expedition vessels, having been designed for worldwide cruising with a strong focus on high-latitude areas. SH Vega will feature a 5-megawatt diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system with selective catalytic reduction, 3-megawatt max. battery package and PC5 ice-strengthened hull. “New builds Minerva and Vega are designed for extreme weather conditions, from the heavy ice of the polar regions to the heat and humidity of the tropics. And they’re naturally designed to respect the sensitive ecosystems of the unspoilt regions they explore,” commented Project Manager Jonas Packalén.

MSC CRUISES INTRODUCES THE MSC STARSHIP CLUB FEATURING THE WORLD’S FIRST HUMANOID ROBOTIC BARTENDER AT SEA
The MSC Starship Club is a unique futuristic immersive experience launching on new flagship MSC Virtuosa
The MSC Starship Club is a unique futuristic immersive experience launching on new flagship MSC Virtuosa
MSC Cruises’ Humanoid Robotic Bartender, Rob, and his cosmic cocktails will be the star of this unique bar and entertainment experience
Geneva, Switzerland (February 11, 2021) – MSC Cruises revealed today details of the immersive, futuristic MSC Starship Club featuring Rob, the first-ever humanoid, robotic bartender at sea. The MSC Starship Club will be exclusively available on board the line’s newest flagship, MSC Virtuosa, when she comes into service beginning April 16 this year.
Meet Rob, the world’s first humanoid, robotic bartender at sea.
The integrated bar and entertainment experience is inspired by MSC Cruises’ vision of the spaceship of the future. MSC Starliner One is enabled by state-of-the-art technologies to create a futuristic atmosphere with 3D holograms, an immersive digital art wall and a 12-seat infinity digital interactive table, giving guests the opportunity to explore space with their own personalized galactic tour. Rob will mix and serve his signature cocktails — both alcoholic and non-alcoholic — and countless personalized drinks, just like a human bartender would do, while engaging with and speaking to guests and using human-like expressions for a fully immersive bar experience. Rob’s skills and emotional responsiveness, combined with bartenders dressed as if straight out of a sci-fi movie and immersive technology, create a must-visit attraction for all ages at the MSC Starship Club.
Guests will use specifically designed vertical digital cockpits in the area to place their order. Rob will then get to work and use all of his customized robotic skills to prepare the cocktails — pouring spirits, juices and syrups; shaking, building or stirring the concoctions; and garnishing. Rob can not only prepare an impressive range of cocktails, but also speak eight languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese), according to the language chosen when the guest places an order. He also has a clear personality that evolves with the surrounding setting and atmosphere, using his LED face to convey emotion so guests can enjoy his performance while sipping their cocktails.
The MSC Starship Club aboard MSC Virtuosa
The status of the cocktail preparation will be displayed through digital monitors and a ticker-tape-style LED strip above the robotic island while guests are immersed in the space-themed experience. The cosmic cocktails are served in custom-designed futuristic glasses for guests to collect as lasting souvenirs of the MSC Starship Club experience. Cruisers will be able to return to the club multiple times over the course of their cruise, experiencing a new interaction with Rob each time.MSC Cruises is constantly looking to the future to continuously innovate the guest experience and seek out new ways to employ the latest technology to create something unique and elevate the onboard offering. SILVERSEA CRUISES HOSTS EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE OF NEW WORLD CRUISE 2023 WITH ITS LARGEST-EVER CREATIVE PRODUCTION
(MONACO – February 10, 2021) Silversea Cruises, the leading ultra-luxury cruise line, today hosted an exclusive virtual premiere for selected guests, presenting its new World Cruise 2023, entitled ‘South Side Story – All the World’s A Stage.’ The innovative premiere comprised a pre-produced show—which represents Silversea’s largest-ever creative production—hosted by Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Silversea’s President’s Ambassador to the Venetian Society, and a Q&A session with Roberto Martinoli, President & CEO, and Barbara Muckermann, Chief Marketing Officer. The event replaced the usual onboard launch and marked the opening of an exclusive pre-sale to past and future world-cruising guests.
“We are continuously seeking innovative ways to nurture our strong relationships with our guests, Silversea’s extended family, as we await the moment in which we can be reunited aboard our ships once more,” says Roberto Martinoli. “As is the case on board our ships, we are committed to delivering special moments that exceed our guests’ expectations and our investment in our World Cruise 2023 premiere encapsulates this commitment. I am delighted to be able to share our pioneering new product with our valued guests in such an inspiring way and I hope it goes some way in conveying the incredible range of experiences that are in store.”
ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE: WORLD CRUISE 2023 – SOUTH SIDE STORY
Replicating the production of a cinematic film, Fernando’s triumphant show demanded a herculean effort from over 50 talented professionals, who worked around the clock. Five weeks in the making, the immersive production was filmed over an entire week. It included 18 different sets—individually selected over the course of three weeks from over 3,000 options—each of which comprised various props that were displayed in front of a changing452 sq. ft. LED backdrop. Fernando—who is, by now, no stranger to the camera—travelled with seven suitcases to accommodate his array of costumes. The team recorded more than eight hours of footage—files totaling 800TB—before crafting a 27-minute narrative that was designed to transport guests into featured destinations.
“Entitled ‘South Side Story,’ Silversea’s World Cruise 2023 will take inspiration from the Southern Hemisphere’s most captivating cultures—their arts, their people, and the concept of performance as a means to engage with each destination,” says Jose Vuolo, Silversea’s Global Creative Director. “It was fitting, therefore, to leverage on the famous Shakespeare phrase, ‘All the World’s A Stage,’ which is an invitation to our guests to play their parts in this great story, while enjoying the spectacle of the world. What we have created is an unprecedented theatrical performance, combining a cinematographic style reminiscent of the 50s and 60s with the most advanced film technology available today—the virtual set. But this production would not have been possible without inspiration from passionate travelers, such as Fernando with his incredible stories, and from Steve McCurry who showed me how to look at the world differently, and whose photos enrich some of the show’s most evocative sets. To stage such a long journey, while at the same time conveying a calm, luxurious, relaxed voyage, was the real challenge.”
“Together with our close-knit world-cruising guests, I take great delight in celebrating the annual launch of our new World Cruises,” says Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Silversea’s President’s Ambassador to the Venetian Society. “While we await the moment in which we can be reunited at sea once more, I am thrilled to have been involved with this innovative project to open an exclusive pre-sale on our pioneering World Cruise 2023, ‘South Side Story.’ With a focus on the breathtaking landscapes of the Southern Hemisphere, our guests will enjoy new, immersive experiences as they befriend like-minded travelers aboard our recently refurbished Silver Shadow.”

Over 139 nights, Silver Shadow will cross five continents to unlock immersive experiences for guests in 66 destinations, taking in 34 countries. A total of 40 destinations have not been visited on Silversea’s recent World Cruise itineraries. Guests will journey from their homes to their departure airport in private executive transfers, benefit from private assistance to their gate/lounge, and gain access to designated airline lounges. They will then enjoy a superior flight experience from selected US and UK gateways to Sydney, Australia, experiencing a new level of comfort in Qantas Business Class with more space to relax and a dedicated cabin. World Cruise passengers will taste the freshest seasonal ingredients and enjoy Australian hospitality in-flight, presented by Qantas Airways in partnership with Silversea. Once in Sydney, travelers will then experience VIP arrival assistance, private executive transfers, and priority embarkation. Alaska Here We Come. UnCruise Adventures Sails Despite New Canadian Big Ship Ban
Seattle, WA, February 5th, 2021 – The award-winning small boat adventure brand, UnCruise Adventures will sail as scheduled despite Canada’s extended cruise ship ban into 2022. The U.S flagged and Alaska owned small boat operator does not fall under the ban, operating vessels with less than 100 passengers and crew. UnCruise Adventures will resume operations in May 2021 with 7–14-night itineraries offered into September. The company may be one of the only cruise lines operating in Alaska in 2021, working to support the many people in the region who rely on tourism.
The company’s CEO held a virtual press conference this morning to address growing questions and concerns about the future of cruising. UnCruise Adventures has spent the past eleven months in preparation for positive progress to resume operations. Including their commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of guests and crew. The company has firm dates to sail in Alaska that include their COVID safety framework implemented in 2020 and their new triple test process. This three-test combination is a required PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival in Alaska, a follow-up antigen (rapid) test on check-in with an UnCruise Adventures representative, and a second antigen test upon embarkation. This provides a high degree of certainty that people will not be exposed to Covid-19 while aboard the 22-86 passenger boats.
This new cruise ban comes on the tail of positive news of vaccination availability that has increased guest confidence in travel again,” states company CEO, Dan Blanchard. “If the ban continues, we may be one of the only boats cruising in Alaska this season. This is a great opportunity to educate people about small boat adventure options, but we would have preferred it without an extended cruise ban affecting so many.”
UnCruise Adventures has the ability to operate due to its small boat nature, providing small groups and a small environmental footprint. It does not require port stops and is foregoing visits to small cultural communities during its 2021 sailing season.
This is another strike to those who depend on travel and tourism for their livelihood,” says Blanchard “While other news would have been favorable and this is painful for all of us, including our big brothers in the cruise industry, we understand the Canadian government is working hard to keep its citizens safe.”
UnCruise Adventures will offer a special deal of $500 off their current bookings for cruisers who have had their 2021 cruise canceled on larger ships, with proof of their cruise cancellation. The offer is combinable with UnCruise's current offerings of $600 per cabin for a combined savings of $1100 per cabin. *New bookings only, offer good through February 28th, 2021.
