Day 10 - Disembarkation in Seattle
This morning, Brilliant Lady is back at Pier 91 in Seattle. It is a bit cloudy this morning and about 50 degrees outside.
Port of Seattle from our portside balcony
We booked a transfer with Sailor Services a few days ago for the earliest transfer to the Seattle airport. We have an 11:40 am departure, so we booked the 8 am transfer. The cost for the transfer was $35 per person, probably about the same cost as an Uber or Lyft. You can use Uber/Lyft from Pier 91, but it is a pain. They do not allow Uber/Lyft vehicles into the terminal area, so you have to schlep your luggage about a ¼ of mile down a sidewalk to a remote lot. We did this a few years ago, and did not wish to repeat the experience.
We were in the lobby by 7:15 am and found an area reserved for Rock Star guests. Rock Star sailors benefit from priority embarkation and disembarkation. They began disembarking the ship by 7:40 am and we breezed through US Customs. We were told to bring all of our luggage with us due to the early transfer, so we did not put any luggage outside of our stateroom last night before going to bed.
As we exited US Customs, there were several private companies selling airport transfers. I believe I saw one sign offering transfers for as little as $15 per person. So, there are other options available in case you do not pre-book a transfer.
The drive to the airport took about 35 minutes and, fortunately, there was not heavy traffic. We are dropped off at a remote airport parking lot and it is quite a long walk to the airport terminal.
Since Sea-Tac does not have an Admiral’s Club Lounge, we were forced to seek refuge from the overcrowded terminal at one of the Priority Pass lounges. This lounge was another 10-15 minute walk from our designated gate. We get Priority Pass access free with one of our credit cards, which is good, because we definitely would not pay for access to these often over-crowded lounges.
We had to wait another 10 minutes outside the lounge as the lounge was completely full. We eventually did get in and it was a pretty typical Priority Pass lounge.
We made our flight on time and the flight home was uneventful. Make sure you check out our cruise review videos on our YouTube channel.
