Day 4 - St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.
Norwegian Aqua is docked in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. today.
Our day begins with breakfast at Hudson’s, one of the ship’s main dining rooms. The service was much better today than on embarkation. There seemed to be plenty of staff and food was coming out of the galley quickly.

On our way back to the stateroom, we took notice of how NCL has had colorful arrows woven into the hallway carpeting to point out the direction to the front of the ship.

We decided to get off the ship and walk into Havensight Mall for some exercise and to buy some bottled water. You are allowed to bring a small quantity of bottled water back on board, but don’t try to bring a case of water.

There are many activities and excursions offered in St. Thomas, but one of the main attractions is shopping, as you can see from the sign below.
All signs point to shopping, or taxis, which drive you to more shopping
Havensight Mall is located within easy walking distance from the ship, but the best shopping is downtown. You will need a taxi to get there.
Havensight is a short walk from the ship
Once we are back onboard, we get more steps in on the Oceanwalk. Rickee still freaks out every time we walk over the glass walkway which is eight decks above the ground, or ocean when we are at sea.

I walk out to the pool deck at sunset and you can see how Norwegian Aqua really lights up the sky.

Tonight we have dinner reservations at Sukhothai, the Thai specialty restaurant on Aqua.
Sukhothai Restaurant
The menu at Sukhothai offers a lot of familiar Thai traditional dishes.
Menu at Sukhothai
Rickee ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, which were served hot, crispy and really good. We would have preferred the Thai sweet chili sauce to the plum sauce, but it was still good. We shared an order of the Som Tum, a green Papaya salad dish which is really refreshing. Rickee also ordered the Salt & Pepper Prawns, which she said were some of the best fried shrimp she has ever eaten. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup which is a spicy broth with coconut milk chicken and bell peppers. It was delicious.

For Rickee’s main course, she ordered the Thai Cashew Chicken, which sounds more like a Chinese dish to me rather than Thai. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it. I ordered the Red Chicken Curry, which was very good. I asked for “Thai Spicy”, but what I got instead was more of a medium spice. I did not have to dab my forehead once to remove perspiration.
Our meal ended with a shared order of Mango Sticky Rice, one of our favorite desserts. This interpretation is a little different than what we are used to, but it was still very good.
Our meal at Sukhothai was the best meal we have had onboard Aqua so far. Well done. And, well worth the $50/pp cover charge.

After dinner, we lined up at the Aqua Theatre nearly an hour before the Rumours show begins. This show is a tribute to Fleetwood Mac and we have been told it is not to be missed.
We got excellent seats on the second row. This was, hands down, the best musical performance we have ever enjoyed on a cruise ship. The band, the vocals, the stage lighting all came together for a memorable performance of Fleetwood Mac’s best selling album.
